Oddie's Historical Feature – Episode 9
The very first video version (2016) on the internet and the most detailed & sympathetic documentary on YouTube about "The Recluse of Poitiers" Blanche Monnier. Many other creators were inspired to cover this story after watching my presentation.
I've had very many requests to create podcasts of my videos, and I'm happy to announce that I will start re-editing my videos step by step into podcast versions without text slides and with uninterrupted narration; also my 'blah blah' chat at the end has been removed. The idea is that I will create a play-list so the videos can be watched and listened back to back without the pauses, etc.
The original presentations remain of course for those who enjoy and indeed require the text slides. I have just heard that YouTube will be getting rid of community contribution subtitles, so viewers suffering hearing impairment can rest assured my videos will not be affected - also people who are in an environment where they cannot have the volume turned up, and for people who are learning the English language.
Obviously this process will not happen overnight, but I am committed to it and the link to the new play-list I provide for you to save as a bookmark.

This is the true account of Blanche Monnier, who was imprisoned by her mother in an attic room in France in 1876.
Blanche was having a clandestine affair with an unsuccessful lawyer...
...her mother vehemently disapproved.
It is my intention to try and present Blanche as a real person, with hopes, love & aspirations...and not just some horrible image on a video thumbnail.
