On this day 20 years ago, Apple released the first Intel-based Macintosh computers on the market, and I, Zak Wolf, have a couple such Macs in my vintage Apple collection: a 17" 1.83 GHz Core Duo iMac and a 15" 2.16 GHz Core Duo MacBook Pro! I talk a bit how these were a real game-changer for Apple and how they somewhat influenced the Intel to Apple Silicon transition roughly 15 years later.
