The last remnant of an auto repair shop at the corner of Sunset and Amar in La Puente comes crashing down to make way for a Winchell's Donuts. Erected circa 1957 as part of a gas station, the sign stood long after the auto shop closed in the 1990's. In the auto-topia heyday of the 1960's, there was a gas station at every corner here, today the gas stations have been replaced by mini-malls.
