🎥 In this video, Curator Ewen Cameron takes us into the RAF Museum’s stored clothing collection at MOD Stafford, where over 12,000 uniform items are preserved 👗🧤🧥
Among them: the mess dress shoes worn by Julie Gibson, the first woman to graduate as a regular RAF pilot in 1991. Alongside them? Her 1965-pattern flying boots and Mark 14A flying suit — the real gear she wore while flying ✈️👩✈️
These are just a few of the thousands of RAF objects 📦 our team is transferring from storage to their new home at our Midlands site 🏢, opening to the public in summer 2027 📅
