In this video, I do a deep dive into the book and the woman who wrote it, while putting her narrative into generational context! I also discuss the early beginnings of urban literature (Claude McCay, Chester Himes, Donald Goines, Iceberg Slim, etc) and discuss life in the 90s. Life After Death, Sister Souljah, Winter Santiaga.
