The final steps - setting the string spacing on the saddle and setting up the action. Then the pressure test - bringing it up to full tension for the first time, and finally playing it. It sounds even better than I'd hoped. Now, I just need to re-teach these stoopid fingers how to hold down all of those strings without falling all over each other. This is a pretty crude first attempt, but... wutevah...
I took it to my guitar guy a few days ago, partly to pick up a cheap soft shell case and a few odds and ends, and partly to show it off. He looked it over, played it, and told me it deserved a hard shell case.
I wanted one, but, "Too many bucks. No can do."
So he went in the back, came out with a soft shell case AND a hard shell case. He laid the guitar in the hard case, and it fit like they were born for each other. I still couldn't afford it. So he sold it to me for the price of the soft case. I quietly refrained from arguing with him... :-)
