I had the opportunity to shoot something that I have always wanted, heard about, thought it would be interesting and cool to have but never acquired or even handled one. It is a 5.56mm Upper receiver for the M-11 SMG that feeds from an M-16/AR-15 magazine and fires the 5.56mm cartridge.
That is right, Alliance Armament came out with the Sabre upper receiver for the M-11. The crazy thing is that this upper works! It is cool! It is fascinating!
It is also HEAVY! It has terrible ergonomics. well, that isnt a surprise since it in an M-11 afterall.
It fires from the open bolt and has virtually no felt recoil.
The only problem is that Alliance Armaments went out of business a few years ago.
