Abel had the goal of creating a Cyborg Army, so he revived Bryan through the use of cybernetics. Abel wanted the mechanics of the cyborgs to be built of the highest quality, so he sent Bryan off to collect Doctor Bosconovitch's own data on cybernetics. Bryan is part man, part cop... all zombie.

Yamazaki is the mid-boss of the game. He is a non-selectable character in the Neo-Geo MVS version of it.
ABOUT YAMAZAKI
As one of the Hakkesshu (thats the Orochi fighters), he is somewhat important to a degree in the KOF storyline... he is one of the more popular villains of the KOF series due to his gangster like design and background.
FIGHTING STYLE
Probably the most well-known one-hand-in-pocket fighting game character... although Jotaro Kujo might like to have a word these days.
As he is one of the Orochi warriors, he has an array of Orochi-type moves (fast-blurred slashing moves, etc.)... he is known for the snake motif in which his fighting style has.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
On the character select screen, his portrait/icon position is at the top next to Geese to his right. Obviously as an non-selectable character, you wont normally see this and the position is not normally accessible.
When playing as him in a 1P game, you do not get the Yamazaki accident fight midway through the route.
When playing as him in a 1p game, you do not get any pre-fight cutscenes, such as the ones with Yamazaki and Chonshu at the end.
If you beat the game with him, he does not have an ending.
Despite being a non-selectable character, he actually has an alternate colour palette.
Despite being a non-selectable character, he operates perfectly on the Continue screen and can appear on the name entry screen.
Between matches, on the map screen when he travels, his icon and its animation may be a bit strange.
TRIVIA
The debut game of Ryuji Yamazaki.
Unlike most of the other members of the Orochi clan, he does not care about the issue of Orochis (his would-be master) resurrection.
He does not really acknowledge or care about his Hakkesshu status.
His hairstyle is almost the same as Goenitzs one. It is not known on whether this was intentional though.
In some of his appearances in other fighting games where he isnt a mid-boss or boss, as a CPU opponent he tends to be a bit harder to defeat than other characters. An example of this is in Capcom vs. SNK 1. This may be a reference to his past as a boss character.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The game is known as Garou Densetsu 3: Haruka-naru Tatakai in Japan.
Some other fighting game characters, such as Sol Badguy, Rouga Zanma and Jotaro Kujo, also fight with one hand in their pockets. Sol and Rouga are not as extreme of course, as their hands are not superglued into their pockets.

This is a demonstration of using the Frog as a starting character in the Arcade MVS version of Power Instinct Matrimelee. Read on below for more information...
INTRODUCTION
In Matrimelee, there are two characters who can turn their opponents into animals temporarily. These characters are Clara and Sissy. Clara can turn the opponent into a bird or a pig; and Sissy can turn the opponent into a Frog. If you are turned into animal character, you can control them by moving them around.
The bird and the pig are able to attack the opponent through single strikes (that does next to no damage); but with the Frog you cannot hurt the opponent at all... and to make it worse, he is a much larger target unlike the other two animals.
Despite being temporary limited characters, they are almost like entirely different characters to play as, which this concept kind of has become a staple of the Power Instinct franchise.
DEMONSTRATION & INFORMATION
As the animals cannot be selected as regular characters, this is my attempt at trying to play as them start off as a regular character. As you can see in the video, it doesnt work properly at all and is very prone to glitching and resetting the game. Here is the information about the Frog:
Despite being the Frog from the start, the player has no control over him. It cannot move, attack nor do anything else. It just stands there. The animation is still, unlike normally when Sissy turns the opponent into him.
The colour palette of the Frog is incorrect with glitched colours. The colours of it can vary on different background stages.
When the opponent is near the Frog, it reacts by doing a different animation pose (think Fatal Fury 3). This is interesting and strange because the games regular characters do not have a feature where they change pose if their opponent is close to them.
The Frog is able to be hit and thrown by the opponent. Some hits from specific moves will crash and reset the game. Trying to throw the Frog will also result in a game reset.
Defeating the Frog can cause a crash with extreme visual glitches but without resetting the game. You can see this starting around 01:36.
It is probably possible to get the animal characters to be selected and function as regular characters, but I got bored.

HOW TO SELECT AKUMA
There are two ways to select him, the easiest/quickest way is as follows:
FOR PLAYER 1:
1) On the character select screen, highlight the left random [?] box.
2) Hold the L2 button, and press Left, Left, Left, Down, Down, Down, and press LP + MP or LK + MK.
FOR PLAYER 2:
1) On the character select screen, highlight the right random [?] box.
2) Hold the L2 button, and press Right, Right, Right, Down, Down, Down, and press LP + MP or LK + MK.
(LP + MP gives you the default colour palette, and LK + MK gives you the alternate colour palette)

ABOUT AKUMA
Probably the most famous fighting game secret/hidden boss character, and the staple Street Fighter antagonist of Ryu. He is essentially a head-swap character in the 2D games, but there is no doubt that he has developed his own unique persona and style as the SF series progressed - the way he performed his moves became more and more different to Ryu/Ken.
Alpha 1 Akuma is certainly a very strong character to use... if I were to describe this version of him, then I would say that he is basically like an in-between of SFA2s regular Akuma and Shin Akuma. Basically stronger than regular Akuma, but not quite on Shin Akumas level.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & TRIVIA
Obviously, he can only be fought against as a hidden boss in the game.
His personal boss in the game is M.Bison.
Regarding the Alpha/Zero games, SFA1 is the only game where Akuma has some unique voices and grunts. They were changed for SFA2 and beyond.
His brother Gouken, and his master Goutetsu, appear in his ending.
Akuma is known as Gouki in Japan.
The game is known as Street Fighter Alpha outside of Japan.
In the Saturn version of the game, when the characters perform super combos, the shadow trails of the character are coloured differently. If you switch the music to Original, the shadow trails will be like the arcade version.
In the Saturn version of the game, some of the hit sound effects are different when compared to the PS1 version.
In the Saturn version of the game, in the character endings, the style of text in the dialogue box is different to the PS1 and Arcade versions.
In the Saturn version of the game, the character name text under the lifebars are shifted inwards a little.
In the Saturn version of the game, when you win a round with a throw, the win icon shows a baseball. This is different to the PS1 and Arcade versions where it showed a rope instead.
In the Saturn version of the game, when fighting on Charlies background, when you win a round there is no crowd noise (when they throw the money). On the PS1 and Arcade versions, the crowd makes a noise.

Micky is the 5th enemy character in the 1-player Story Mode. He is a playable character, but he can only be used in 2-player versus matches.

MICKY GAMEPLAY
As the boxer character of the game, he has great punch range and decent speed, making him a very good character against the CPU. His hitboxes seem to be large as well. His weaknesses may come in the form of his special moves, which there is a delay before the projectiles come out.
MICKY INFORMATION
He does not have a Super nor a Desperation move.
After the Bonus Games, if it shows the special move advice commands, you cannot see his demonstrations but can hear his sounds.
In the original version of the game, in the Ice Pillar bonus game, if you fill up the gauge, it will produce a set of glitched sprites because the character status is Micky. You can see this at around 12:36 in the video.
In the original version of the game, in the Bonus Game where you need to perform the Haou Shoukou Ken multiple times, he obviously cannot pass it as he doesnt have the move. Afterwards, some graphical elements are leftover on the screen which will eventually lead to game corruption and crashes. You can see this starting around 05:34 in the video. The crash is at 06:41.
After you defeat Mr. Karate, in the beating up Mr. Karate cutscene, his colour palette is a black shadow.
TRIVIA
The debut game of Micky/Mickey Rogers.
He is known as the Micky the Mauler.
In terms of game-affecting roles, aside from AOF1 and AOF2, his only other appearance is in Quiz King of Fighters.
He has made a number of cameo appearances in various SNK games.
THE ORIGINAL GAME
The version of Art of Fighting 1 seen in this video is the original version. As it is the original version, it means that glitches, halts, freezes and crashes can potentially happen when playing as enemy and boss characters in a 1-player game. These problems occur because of the Bonus Games, and there are ways to get round this within the game as you long as you know how. Also, you dont get to fight Mr. Karate when playing as the enemy characters.
ABOUT THE ALTERNATE VERSION OF THE GAME
This is a specially changed version of the game with all the characters and bosses permanently unlocked. This means that you can play through a 1-Player game with the enemy and boss characters.
This version also makes changes to specific elements such as the text/dialogue boxes and sprites during the Bonus games to prevent the game from halting/crashing (which is what can happen if you use unofficial methods to play as the enemies/bosses in the original version in a 1P game). Other changes include making it so that all the enemy/boss characters can meet all the enemies and bosses in a 1-player game.
ABOUT AOF1
The game features impressively large 2D sprites for its time. The AOF series, with its usage of graphical zooming, music style, sound effects and voices, has always gave you that intense and stylish atmospheric feel in fights.

Old/SSFII Dhalsim is a another version of the regular Dhalsim. He is a hidden playable character.

HOW TO SELECT OLD/SSFII DHALSIM
On the character select screen, select Dhalsim with any button, and immediately input Down, Up, Up, Up and then press LP or LP + LK.
If youve done it correctly youll hear Dhalsims voice and his portrait colours will change into his original ones.

OLD/SSFII DHALSIM DIFFERENCES
As this is the old SSFII version of him, it means that he does not the Super Combo gauge, which of course means that he does not have the Yoga Inferno. He also does not have the Yoga Blast special move.
Regarding his operation of Normals (basic attacks), he is quite different to the New Dhalsim, such as:
He does not have the ability to perform close-up normals whilst being far away through command inputs.
He does not have: the new Neutral LK; the new jumping forward/backward MP; the new jumping straight up LP.
He does not have the new close-up crouching LK.
He does not have the new spinning Drill kicks.
ABOUT DHALSIM
Dhalsim is one of the staples of the Street Fighter franchise. He has one of the most unique and distinct fighting styles and is the most famous keep-away character in fighting games. He has probably reached the Street Fighter-loses-something-without-him status.
Dhalsims story in Street Fighter II is that he enters the tournament to raise money for his village, but realises that his participation contradicts his pacifist beliefs. He retires from fighting after the second World Warrior tournament, and continues to roam the world helping those in need.
OTHER INFORMATION / TRIVIA
Old Dhalsim has two colour palettes. The first is the original World Warrior colours; and the second are unique colours that is specially made for Old Dhalsim.
The second unique colour palette is made specially for SSFIIX/SSF2T.
There is no instance in the game where the CPU is in control of Old Dhalsim.
In SSFIIX/SSFIIT, Dhalsim is the only character to have his main ending image changed from the prequel game.
SSFIIX features the first appearance of his wife Sari/Sally, seen in one of his new ending images at 27:55.
There is some contradiction to his pacifist mentality regarding one of his winning quotes in which he says I WILL MEDITATE AND THEN DESTROY YOU!!.
Dhalsim got his name from an Indian restaurant called Dhals, which was located in Osaka near Capcoms office. (Dhal is lentils, shim is Hyacinth beans). The restaurant is no longer running.
The lead designer of Street Fighter II, Akira Nishitani, stated in a interview that the concept of Dhalsims ability to stretch his limbs comes from the Ripple Zoom Punch technique from the manga series JoJos Bizarre Adventure.
He is known as the Yoga Master.
It has been mentioned before in the past that parts of his design was inspired by ACDC from Jojos Bizarre Adventure, but this is unconfirmed.

Abubo is a once glorious fighter and former member of the gang that ruled Sunshine City. He was plotting to one day overthrow his boss until Jimmy and Billy barged into their turf and defeated them. He was personally defeated by the older brother and bore a grudge against him ever since.
With the help of his two personal assistants, Linda and Roxy, Abubo aspires to reclaim his reputation and take over the current m@fia. He does this in his ending, where he becomes the new kingpin of the town.
OTHER INFORMATION
Generally, he is quite tough to beat for a mid-boss character when his A.I. is operating on maximum difficulty.
TRIVIA
Abubo is loosely based on Abobo, the first boss in the original Double Dragon game; and a recurring enemy from the Double Dragon franchise.
He makes an appearance in Power Instinct Matrimelee, appearing in a special move of Sissy.
Linda, one of Abubos personal female assistants, is loosely based on Linda Lash, a well-known female enemy from the Double Dragon franchise.

Armor King is the sub-boss for King in the game. He is an unlockable playable character in the normal version of it.
ABOUT THE BOSS EDITION
To put it simply, this is the normal game as usual but with the major difference being that the bosses icons appear on the character select screens instead of the regular characters. The 2P Play Mode character select screen also has this change whereby it replaces the regular characters texts.
The interesting thing is that the final boss Heihachi replaces the slot of Kazuya... logically you would think that only the sub-bosses would appear here right? Heihachi being present here results in Kunimitsu not appearing on this screen.
Note that the sub-bosses icon slot appearances here do not replace/match their regular starting character counterparts (for example Anna would replace Ninas slot), meaning that its not a structured appearance. Instead, they are of the same order as when they are all unlocked in the normal version of the game.
The bosses icons on this screen are not just aesthetical... they actually function and do give you the chosen boss when you select them here. Think of it as the bosses being the main characters this time.
I find it rather interesting because normally the bosses icons are never shown on the character select screen (you normally move the cursor off the side of the screen to select the bosses after theyre unlocked).
BOSS EDITION ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- If you select a boss this way and use him/her to beat Arcade Mode, it does not unlock their regular counterpart.
- As mentioned earlier, Kunimitsu is the only boss that does not appear on the character screen due to Heihachi appearing.
UNLOCK INFORMATION
- HOW TO UNLOCK ARMOR KING IN THE NORMAL VERSION OF THE GAME:
Beat Arcade Mode with King. Armor King will then be available on the character select screen by scrolling off the side of the row.
ABOUT ARMOR KING
Due to his physical appearance, he sure looks like an evil version of King... it turns out that he is actually a rival of him. After he is deleted by Craig Marduk during the events of Tekken 4 (story only), his younger brother (Armor King II) takes on his name and becomes his successor in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and onwards.
ARMOR KING GAMEPLAY
Armor King is a very good character in PS1 Tekken 1... as well as having multiple special throws and most of Kings moves, he has also been blessed with the Mishima Wind God Fist, which is one of the best moves in the game. He also has the Mishima Thunder God Fist (thats the dragon punch one) too... which is surprisingly fitting for him.
ABOUT PS1 TEKKEN 1
This version of the game is virtually arcade perfect, even bettering the Arcade version in a lot of ways, such as:
1) The sub-bosses and Heihachi being made to be unlockable playable characters. They are unplayable in the Arcade version.
2) Extra/new and unique moves for the bosses.
3) A new alternative costume for each of the bosses.
4) FMV endings for the regular characters.
5) Offering an excellent Arranged soundtrack.
The minor downside however is that the character portraits on the select screen are static when you select/confirm them, unlike in the Arcade where they had animation. This is probably done to cut loading times.

Original Zero is the penultimate boss of the game, and he is a non-selectable character in both the Neo-Geo MVS and AES versions of it.
VIA DEBUG DIPS
One of the external methods to select him is by adjusting the systems Debug DIP settings, which is the way I did it as shown early in the video. In order to get access to the Debug DIPs, a modified Neo-Geo BIOs must be used.
If you have access to the Debug Dips, the switches to enable are 1-5. Do this before you reach the character select screen. You can then disable the switches on the character select screen. Original Zeros icon (which is invisible) location is 1 space to the right of the Roulette [?] icon.
ABOUT ORIGINAL ZERO
He is the real Zero, whereas the one in KOF2000 was a clone of him. Despite him being a high-ranking executive of NESTS, he is an honorable man and a good guy.
O. Zero is definitely one of the more powerful characters in the KOF Universe... hes in the same bracket as Omega Rugal, Goenitz, Krizalid, Clone Zero, Dark Ash, Nightmare Geese, Maki (maybe), etc.
2001 ZERO INFO
Heres the technical information on his operation:
On both the 1-player and 2-player character select screens, his portrait image is glitched sprites of other items.
On the character select screen, his slot is 1 space to the right of the Roulette [?] icon. He does not have an icon here which means that its invisible. Obviously, this slot is usually non-accessible.
On the character select screen, when Zero is highlighted, his name says ROULETTE?.
On the character select screen, his post-select icon (which appears next to the portraits) is glitched.
On the order select screen, he actually has his own proper icon here, despite being a non-selectable character. (normally you dont see these icons here before you fight CPU Zero)
On the Versus screen, his portrait banner is of a glitched sprite, and his name is ROULETTE. As 4 of them appear, it slows the screen down.
If Zero is selected as one of your characters and the others are other characters, the whole team will consist of 4 Zeros anyway.
He always appears in gameplay as a lone character.
If he is selected as the 1st character in your team and you play through single-player mode, the path near the end is wrong and will eventually freeze the game.
If he is selected as the 2nd, 3rd or 4th character, it is possible to play through the whole game with him in single-player mode. However, after defeating CPU Igniz, the game will then loop a cutscene over and over which means that the game cannot progress.
The cutscene that appears and loops infinitely after beating CPU Igniz is actually the Hero teams pre-fight-to-Igniz cutscene. Not only is it wrong for Zero, it also appears at the wrong place. It is supposed to appear after you beat CPU Zero.
He has a 2nd colour palette despite being a non-selectable character. His Strikers also have different colours. You can see this at 19:03 in the video.
When setting him up on the order select screen, the other 3 Zeros must be selected as Strikers, otherwise it will freeze the game if he tries to call the ones that are not set as Strikers.
In gameplay, he cannot crouch/duck. But he does have a semi-crouch-block animation.
In gameplay, some of his Normal moves are similar to Ignizs ones.
In gameplay, he always has the 3 unique strikers - Ron, Glugan and Krizalid. They are also summoned using unique commands that are different to how a regular character summons a Striker.
In gameplay, even though it appears that he has no super gauge, this isnt true. He actually does have it, its just that its invisible. This is because he still needs stocks to perform his super moves.
ADDITIONAL INFO / TRIVIA
Despite being a headswap of Clone Zero from KOF2000, Original Zero actually has less animation frames and less personal moves.
He appears in 2001 because the supervising designer was not happy with Zeros design in 2000. The designer also hints that this design and the lion were already made back then but were not used.
In the games intro, when the grid of the roster appears, Krizalid and Ron appears in it, despite the both of them being non-regular/just Assist characters. Therefore this makes Original Zero, Igniz and Glugan the only three characters to not appear on this grid.

Noob Saibot is a hidden CPU opponent in the game, and he is an immediately selectable character in this version of the game.
This is an alternative version of the Genesis/Mega Drive game, where the bosses and hidden characters are specially made playable, as well as adding other new features and content. The game is known as Mortal Kombat II Unlimited, and the m0d is made by a person named Smoke, a.k.a BIGBOSS. This is version 1.0 of the game.

ABOUT MKIIU NOOB SAIBOT
The m0d makes him selectable on the character select screen, his panel is at the bottom-center.
On the character select screen, his panel image is a mirrored and edited version of Sub-Zeros panel. The same goes for his icon on the Battle Plan.
As the m0d has implemented a versus screen for 2-player matches, Noob naturally has one too. The image used here is an edited version of Reptiles versus screen image. You can see this at 24:50 in the video.
Noob now has his own profile/biography screen during the demos. The image here uses Reptiles, but has a newly-created background with purple lightening. You can see this at 24:54 in the video.
If you beat the game with him, he naturally has an ending in this version of the game as the m0dder has implemented these for the bosses and hidden characters.
He does not have an alternate colour palette for mirror matches.
MKII UNLIMITED SMOKE GAMEPLAY
Unfortunately, his Spear special move from the original game is now gone. The CPU Noob doesnt have it either.
He now has a new special move where he rushes forward, an uppercut is triggered with contact to the opponent. This is a very good move in the game. Seems to be inspired by his Clone Throw move from Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
He has Sub-Zeros ice projectile... except that the projectiles are black silhouettes and the opponent will also be a black silhouette if they are frozen by the move. This kind of makes sense as he had the Immobilizer projectile in Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
He now has Finishing moves.
As he now has Finishing Moves and can have finishing moves performed on him, it means the he can go into the Finish Him/Her! event.
The glitched/unintended moves from the original MK2 version of him is removed.
TRIVIA
When he performs the Rushing Shadow, the shadow comes out with Sub-Zeros walking pose. If it misses the opponent (meaning that no uppercut is triggered) then the shadow will then have Reptiles walking pose off the screen.

Soul Edge is the final boss in the game. He is an unlockable playable character in this version of it.
HOW TO UNLOCK SOUL EDGE
There are two methods as follows:
- Method 1: Beat Arcade Mode with all of the main starting 10 characters. As well as Soul Edge, this also gives you a new title/menu screen.
- Method 2: Soul Edge will become available after 20 hours of game time is logged.
INFORMATION ON PS1 SOUL EDGE
- As he is a legitimately playable character here, he has new alternate colour palettes. He is unplayable in all of the Arcade versions of the game.
- As he is a legitimately playable character here, he has his own ending if you beat the game with him. However, he does not have an alternate ending sequence.
- He cannot be selected in Edge Master mode, which means that he does not have nor use any different weapons.
- In this version of the game, he has his own unique voice.
- Gameplay-wise, he is basically a more powerful version of Cervantes, with some extra moves and some slight changes here and there.
- The CPU-controlled Soul Edge does not consume the Weapon gauge if he uses the Dread Slash (after Dread Charge). The player version consumes the Guard meter when performing this move.
- When he is CPU-controlled, the CPU can perform a move where he feints slashes by holding his left sword up slightly (with the aura) and quickly moving left and right. I dont think it is possible for a human player to do this with Soul Edge.
DESIGN IN SOUL EDGE
His design comprises of him being an aura of flames for his body with a skeletal skull for his head. As he takes over Cervantes body, it results in him wearing some of the latters attire. Shades of Ghost Rider here.

- He is known as Inferno in the future games of the series.
- He is one of the originals of the Soul series, as he appeared in the very first game.
- In the USA and Europe, the game was renamed as Soul Blade due to copyright issues.
SOUL EDGE STORY
From the Soul Calibur wiki:
During the 16th century, Soul Edge mysteriously reappeared in a secret antique auction, using its shape-shifting powers to become two blades instead of one. The swords were obtained by an English curio dealer, whose ship was attacked by the dreaded pirate Cervantes de Leon. Possessed by the will of the wicked swords, Cervantes slew the crew of the ship and then slaughtered the population of a Spanish port-town, where he stayed the next twenty-five years, waiting for the birth of the Child of the Cursed Sword.
But then a holy warrior sent by Hephaestus, Sophitia Alexandra, confronted him and was able to destroy the smaller of the two blades. Cervantes, enraged, defeated Sophitia and nearly ki1led her, but was stopped and ki1led by a demon huntress named Taki.
ABOUT PS1 SOUL EDGE/BLADE
The PS1 version of the game is one of the all-time greats on the console, and is one of the best conversion/port of an arcade game for its time. Aside from the loading times (which are very short anyway) its virtually arcade perfect. It helped that the arcade original ran on hardware that was already based on the PS1 hardware.
The PS1 version has tons of features that are not found in the arcade original. For example, the port has 2 extra remixed soundtracks, new character costumes, new weapons, cinematic endings for the characters, the superb Edge Master Mode and more.

Sagat is the 3rd of 4 bosses in this game, and he is a regular playable character.
ABOUT SAGAT
Famous Muay Thai fighter who got defeated by Ryu in SF1 and has been pretty mad ever since. Works for M.Bison and is one of the main antagonists of Ryu. Also has a blatant disregard for height genetics, and his eye-patch switches to his other eye every time he turns around in the 2D Street Fighter games.
GAMEPLAY
When compared to his CE counterpart, for SSF2 he was given some new normals such as jumping punches, different sprites for some of his crouching attacks, new close-up punch attacks, etc. which makes him orthodox to the system and a much more rounded-out character.

OTHER INFORMATION
Being the 3rd boss, hell always appear as the 11th opponent when the player plays through single player mode.
Being a set boss character in Arcade Mode, you get to have a mirror match against him if you select him as your character to play as.
If the player plays through the game as Sagat in his default colour palette (Jab), when you reach CPU Sagat, the CPU Sagat will use the second (Strong/CE) colour instead. This means that there is no instance where the CPU Sagat can use any other colour palette besides the Default (WW) and Strong (CE) colours.
The bosses and E.Honda are the only characters who do not have a unique backwards walking animation in the SF2 series.
As mentioned earlier, in gameplay his eyepatch switches to the other eye when he switches sides. This is due to the functionality of 2D sprite management (unless another complete set of unique sprites are created with his eyepatch on his other eye for facing one way).
He is the only SF2 boss who did not get his name switched outside of Japan.
ABOUT ARCADE SSFII
As the previous games World Warrior, Champion Edition and Hyper Fighting ran on the CPS-1 hardware with the same base, SSFII was the first proper rebuild or refresh of the game, running on the CPS-II hardware. Almost everything besides the gameplay character sprites has been redrawn, and the character portrait and icon images are completely new. Many of the ending images are also new and/or have been redrawn. The bosses receive proper endings. The superior sound hardware is evident in the new music, voices and sound effects (although some may prefer the previous three games sounds of course).
The most significant new feature is the addition of the four new characters Cammy, Feilong, Deejay and T.Hawk, which of course also brings along four new stages/backgrounds and BGMs.
The gameplay speed reverts back to the CE-esque speed after the fast pace of the previous game Hyper Fighting. This resulted in some complaints of SSF2 being too slow, in which the next game in the series rectified.
