RVingWithJoeIn this episode of RVing Unfiltered with Joe, Joe sits down with Jason Epperson from RV Miles to unpack what it really looks like when an RV media team collaborates with a manufacturer. Jason shares how Sabre kept pushing for RV Miles to return, and how “we’ll build it for you” turned into a real floorplan and production model - with real constraints, engineering realities, and compromises that most buyers never see.
Jason explains the design problems that drove the project in the first place: family floorplans that claim to sleep everyone but do not actually seat or fit everyone comfortably, bunks that are too short, and layouts that ignore how real people live in an RV day to day. The conversation gets into the practical decisions behind the RV Miles Sabre model, including why the focus stayed on the floorplan (not rebuilding the entire construction standard), how the flex room concept changes usability over time, and why features like the patio balcony are more “optional” than a typical slide.
The back half turns into straight industry talk: how manufacturers learn from feedback that never makes it back through warranty channels, why “hidden stuff” matters more than glossy upgrades, and Jason’s best advice for shoppers who get hypnotized by floorplans. The episode closes with a candid discussion on AI - dynamic pricing, misinformation, and the growing value of trusted human voices in the RV space.

I want to know what happens when I actually start plugging things into it. In this video, I put the new BLUETTI Elite 300 through real-world RV testing, plug my Ember travel trailer directly into its TT-30 outlet, test charging and high-power loads, look at the app and charging capabilities, and keep pushing until I find its limits. With more than 3,000Wh of capacity in a surprisingly compact package, this could add a substantial amount of portable power to an RV without permanently installing another battery bank. BLUETTI provided the Elite 300 for me to keep and asked me to share my opinion, but they did not dictate how I tested it or what I said about it.

When I bought this trailer, I knew I was making some pretty significant tradeoffs compared with a tandem axle RV.
Some of those turned out exactly the way I expected.
Others surprised me.
In this video, I'm getting into the real-world differences I've experienced with a single axle trailer, including maneuverability, tire scrub, stability, maintenance, cargo capacity and a few things I didn't really appreciate until I'd lived with the trailer for a while.
Would I make the same decision again?
Well... that's the question.

Thanks to Tochta for supporting RVing With Joe.
We've spent roughly 50 to 60 nights on our Tochta Utopia mattress over the last year and it has completely changed how we sleep in the RV.

Ditch the Generator, Go Silent!RVingWithJoe2026-09-15 | (Discount links below) When a new power station shows up, I don’t want to just read the specifications off the box.

This was our first camping trip since Johanna broke her wrist in Alberta, so instead of planning another huge adventure, we kept this one simple: a few days exploring Seattle, Whidbey Island and Deception Pass in Washington State.
We start with an overnight at Tulalip Casino, then Johanna heads to a plant show while I explore Seattle with Lizzy and Linus. From there we move over to Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, check out the island, enjoy some much-needed downtime, and finish things off with an incredible sunset at Deception Pass Bridge.
I also finally get to try some of the camping gear we never had a chance to use during the Alberta trip, including the LETWESAF campsite proximity alarm system, the TURBRO portable mister/fan and the AUTO-VOX Solar 5B wireless camera.
And this little Washington trip is really just the warm-up.
Our MUCH bigger Southwest adventure is coming this fall as we head south through Nevada and Utah for desert roads, remote campsites, incredible scenery and plenty of surprises. Check out full BLUETTI overview I did: youtu.be/TvUKmurM-F4

Did I make the wrong choice? Comment Below, Am I Wrong?RVingWithJoe2026-09-07 | (Discount links below) After more than four years towing a single axle travel trailer, I've had plenty of time to find out what I like about it... and what I don't.
Thanks to Tochta for supporting RVing With Joe.
We've spent roughly 50 to 60 nights on our Tochta Utopia mattress over the last year and it has completely changed how we sleep in the RV.

RV, Dashcam, Off Road!RVingWithJoe2026-09-01 | (Discount links below) After what might have been our WORST RV trip ever, it was finally time to get back out there.
