Its explosive popularity defined the childhood of generation after generation, and so it's no wonder that our little Italian friend is equally as popular in the speedrunning community. Of course, as with any competition, there are inevitably those who will do whatever it takes to get their name at the top of the leaderboard. This Final Fantasy XIV free company went viral in the community earlier this year for it's out-of-the-box advertising strategy, wherein they rented multiple real-life billboards in order to advertise their in-game event. This quickly blew up in their face, as it turns out a number of the assets used in the billboard violated the game's material usage rights, including the fact that they used official game assets and logos on a REAL LIFE BILLBOARD. Something about a group full of shut-in players being forced to work together seems to bring out the best and worst amongst us, and todays story is no different. The prismatic dragon Kerafyrm was never designed to be killed, and in fact, was meant to be so powerful that players would have no chance to - as it was important for the story that he not only lives, but that players get a taste of just how powerful he was. Still, gamers are a fickle bunch, and if we're told we can't do something, that only makes us want to do it even more. CD Projekt Red had long ago won over the hearts of gamers with their series of Witcher video games, in particular The Witcher 3, considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time. A rare company that seemed to genuinely respect its customers, gamers were consistently lathering them with praise and money, and it seemed they could do no wrong. So when CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 in a barely-finished, bug-riddled state, was it simply a case of exceptionally bad luck? Or did Cyberpunk 2077 really have a disastrous development from start to finish?

By the 1970s, we were treated to the first home game consoles, such as the Magnavox Odyssey, the Fairchild Channel F, and the Intellivision. These three consoles were the first awkward steps towards the controllers we know today, covered in wood paneling, horrible ergonomics, and either way too many, or way too little buttons. By the 1980's, we began to see solid progress being made on the usability front, with consoles such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Master System. These classic systems duked it out in some of the very first console wars, whose rivalry helped propel gaming into the mainstream, as well as launching some of the world's most iconic franchises: Mario, Sonic, Zelda, and many more. Everyday I'm shuffling, but unfortunately I sometimes shuffle closer to ads for Lily's Garden, Mafia City, Legacy of Discord: Furious Wings, and Lord's Mobile. You may have heard of these from other, more attractive creators such as Pewdiepie, Danny Gonzalez, Jarvis Johnson or Kurtin Conner, so if you have, but you've still clicked on this video, you clearly have an insatiable lust for awful mobile game ads that were most likely made by a goblin under a bridge running Windows 98 on a Dell computer the size of a small van.
