Being busy with college I didn’t get to fix it till almost a month later, but thankfully I was able to do a system image repair and it restored my computer EXACTLY the way it was before the crash. So, the project was back on track again and finally got em all collected and in position! Lookin good folks! Then I had the hardest time uploading it for some reason; never fully would process and would delete all thumbnails every time I public it. Ever happen to any of you? 》DreamWorks Infographic《 [College Project] theFrozenFuryfan95 2015-04-24 | Ohhh there are so many things I wish I could change.... This project just ultimately proved that infographics just aren't my thing. My mind is too heavily wired to sync with the music. For example, in a true infographic you shouldn't need to pause to read any of it. Yeah, definitely not gonna get points for that. Other than that, about the same elements as my previous project. Trying to keep a recognizable theme with a few surprises here and there. Thought it be cool to have some little "fun facts" or trivia in there on each movie but I started taking shortcuts after awhile cause it was taking too long. Also planned on narrating it, but the only way to do that was to record myself and I'm just not quite ready for that either, even though it would have helped you guys out in reading it. These things I believe are better narrated. I'm not entirely proud of how it turned out; probably been thinking to long and to hard on it. I was already late in submitting it and had to get an extension. It took awhile for me just to come up with some kind of design or layout and I got stuck countless times.Then the music wouldn't cooperate so I started merging several soundtracks. I wanted to polish it up with some VO clips but I am just running out of time and gotta let it go. It finally got to the point where I just had to compromise with my mistakes or problems and just finish the darn thing! I'm about sick of looking at it honestly. I only have a week to do my last project....I need a miracle, but it should be easier and a whole lot shorter.With all that said, I did thoroughly enjoy learning all about the history of DWA!! 》Riders of Berk Opening《 [College Project] theFrozenFuryfan95 2015-03-23 | So this is one of my projects I've been working on in college in my motion graphics class. For this assignment, we had to create an "Opening" for either a real or fictional movie or TV show. So as no surprise, I chose Riders of Berk, again.The goal here was to be around at least 30-60 secs and use a combination of elements such as video, text, graphics, music, pictures, etc... Along with some of the typical elements you usually find in an opening: Title of the show/movie ✔Producer’s nameDirector’s nameEditor’s name (Tempted to put my name there, lol)Featured cast members ✔Footage from the show ✔Icons or symbols ✔Music ✔Textures & shapes ✔_______________Sooo, my first project was rather too personal to show publicly but I thought I'd share this one with you all. Well, what do ya guys think? I guess its slightly long for an intro, but I wanted to use a good chunk of that score. I've wanted to use it for something special and this felt absolutely perfect! Don't you think? Its a lot more energetic and fun then before. You Dragon fans should recognize it. This was the score in the end credits of the Book of Dragons short film; never knew why they didn't feature it more. I don't know what it is with me and this show though: First I made a trailer youtube.com/watch?v=FgbXeaKEWaI for it and now a new opening...honestly I never thought the other was enough. To me it should have been "something" like this, related to the Dragon book since it is so significant, and with a proper intro for each character/dragon. Though I tried to retain some of the features/style of the original.Whew, I am so over it though! Man I have worked overtime, all through my Spring Break too trying to get this together. This project was one of the biggest challenges, but its also the first one I really worked with my new software, After Effects. That beast has a steep learning curve I swear, but I finally made a breakthrough and learned a lot from this second project we did. Especially moving around in the 3D environment using the virtual camera, light, and also masking. Which are things I have been most interested in learning about doing.What I did here was arrange it in my video editor, Sony Vegas: Movie Studio 12, then make each characters parts: Astrid (0:18-0:21) Snotlout (0:27-0:31) Fishlegs (0:36-0:41) The Twins- Ruff and Tuff (0:47-0:52) and Hiccup (1:04-1:08) in separate compositions in After Effects. I know Hiccup should have probably been first since he's the "main guy" but to me he suited that moment in time with the music, ahe. Oh and Hiccup was also the very FIRST mask/part I made so yeah, its the worst! I used the pen tool for most of my mask since I haven't figured out the Roto Brush thing yet. I can't imagine it being any easier though...that last mask with Hiccup and Toothless flying was the hardest. Since they were constantly in motion, I literally had to do that one, in frames, one by one! It took me 4 hours just for that scene! *PAINFUL* I could have easily Chroma Keyed it in Vegas, but I'd miss the 3D quality and positioning I can do in AE. There are several abilities in it that I think my video editor can do just as well (and easier). I feel like that program is so underrated, and my experience with key frames in it has helped me in transitioning into AE thankfully.The next big step was creating that "open book" style at 1:19-1:26. Its taken me all weekend, all day of the weekend and night to make those 8 secs...I'm kinda proud of it if I do say so myself. My only regret is not finding a way to mask off the Japanese writing on the cover at the beginning (Yeah, I took shortcuts and used some trailer shots). See I wasn't alone in the open book idea though!I hope to upload my next two projects in this course for you to see, maybe. Help to keep me looking somewhat active because here comes the bad news: I'm "officially" going on Hiatus starting right now till I finish this semester (First week of May I think). With this class I really want to learn as much as I can and as you can see it takes A LOT of time; time I can't spend on my edits. My original theNightFuryfan95 account is fine, but I hate it when a vid of mine gets blocked...just like THAT! I've wanted to start a second channel for a long time now and this felt like the perfect reason to give it a go. So my mission here is to hopefully save the other 3 vids of mine blocked virtually worldwide; maybe I'll get one up each month. (:What I did to rescue this one was obviously pitch it....like 4 times. YT made it clear it hated the song. I tried only pitching it by 0.5db, then 1.0db, then 1.5db, and I really didn't want to go much higher since it would ruin the VOs. You see the original file in Vegas was missing some stuff so I had to use .mp4 file which has all the audio merged together of course. So, I tried splitting it 4 ways and pitching the parts with VO only 1.0db and the rest 1.5db. And it WORKS....so far. Ughh, it sounds awful like this though! With those off notes where the splits are. Whaaa!!! I promise I'll be doing more Dragons soon though but for now I hope you enjoy this next icy blast from Frozen.Footage: FrozenSong: "Let Me Go" by Avril Lavigne (feat Chad Kroeger. aka: Nickleback) [trimmed]I told myself when I started this project I would only spend about a week on it with minimal effects......3 weeks and 8 tracks of effects later, not gonna happen; wishful thinking. I started June 12th (You remember what day that was right?) after hearing this song playing while at a grocery store, and yes it stopped me dead in my tracks listening. I swore it had to be Nickleback and after some searching I found its identity and quickly started forming a project in my mind. The inspiration was slicker than skating making this, due to the recent discussions with one of my "fellow" (pun alert!) fanatical frozen friends here. *winks* Along with the chorus and trying to lip-sync. As you can tell, this song had a multitude of opportunities to lip-sync, which was one of the reasons why I wanted to do it. That finale with the chorus was building some pretty jagged red icicles out of my editor and myself. ;)Originally, I wasn't even going to add VOs or include that 0:17 sec introduction but I went ahead with it in the end because I liked the music. Believe it or not I did all that LAST, and it was by far the hardest part to put together out of the whole vid. Sorry its so mistimed on the additive dissolves (spent over an hour on them). I finally just....let them go. What I like in this song is how it changes on the third round with the chorus on how she now HAS let it go and put the past/memories behind her. Unexpected, pivotal twist in the song too that reminds me so much of Frozen's "Let it Go".So, a song this perfect for the movie HAD to have already been done quite a few times. Usually, I always check but I got carried away on inspiration for this thing; so I froze the fjord and crossed over without even thinking.
