Prof. Dawkins discusses the evidence for evolution and to which dispels the odd gaps in the fossil record. By the way, we don't need 1 fossil to prove evolution however, if we ever were to find one fossil out of place in its geology then that would disprove evolution, we have not yet found this and we never will.

Sometime in 1611, a new English Bible was published. It was the work of an almost impossibly learned team of men laboring since 1604 under royal mandate. Their purpose, they wrote, was not to make a new translation of the Bible but "to make a good one better, or out of many good ones, one principal good one." What was published, 400 years ago, was indeed one principal good one: the King James Version of the Bible.

Yeah right! LOL
An international group of researchers used DNA extracted from a finger bone of one of the "Denisovans", named after the caves where their remains were first discovered.
The Natural History Museum's Professor Chris Stringer said the implications of the study, published in the journal Nature, were "nothing short of sensational".
Sir Roger Penrose's new book, Cycles of Time, contains his thoughts on what the answer might be.

A common group of bacteria has provided biological scientists with evidence of a which I call badly named 'missing link' in one of the most important steps in the evolution of life on Earth -- the emergence of cells with a nucleus containing DNA!

In the medical field we see this as normal! If people have questions please see their own Doctor!
Sorry, the quality isn't the best my room was a little too dark and now I have run out of time to make amendments however, it's only meant to be a laugh, and please note, no humans were eaten during this video production and I didn't use real blood!
Once again, Happy Halloween!

The plaintiffs eventually won their case, and on 16 October many of them came together for a private reunion. Yet intelligent design and the creationism for which it is a front are far from dead in the US, and the threat to the teaching of evolution remains.

Doctors and nurses have launched an unprecedented bid to legalise assisted suicide for the terminally ill in the UK.
An influential new group will challenge organisations such as the British Medical Association, which opposes any change to the law.
The Healthcare Professionals for Change campaign is the first professional body to be created with the explicit aim of changing the 1961 Suicide Act.
Dr Ann McPherson, who founded the group and is dying of pancreatic cancer, believes that bodies such as the BMA and the Royal College of Physicians are not adequately reflecting the views of all their members.
Gliese 581g lies some 20 light-years away in its star's "Goldilocks zone" - a region surface temperatures would allow the presence of liquid water.
Scientists say that the newly found world could also potentially have an atmosphere.
After accepting Evolution all of it mind you that we evolved from an Ape like Creature; the hierarchy of the Catholic Church has admitted that there probably were no Adam and Eve therefore; no requirement for Jesus Christ to return to save us from the original sin therefore, Christianity is DEAD!
However, has the Pope and his cult totally lost the plot?
Listen out for Tim Minchin serenades the pope, very catchy repetition too!

When the Pope stretches out his arms to the masses gathered in parks in Glasgow, Birmingham and London this weekend, the rock star parallels will be exaggerated by the appearance of the adoring crowds.
I love the way god changed his mind during the discussions over the past weeks!
New Horizons' voyage through the Jupiter system in 2007 provided a bird's-eye view of a dynamic planet that has changed since the last close-up looks by NASA spacecraft. A combination of trajectory, timing and technology allowed it to explore details no probe had seen before, such as lightning near Jupiter's poles, the life cycle of fresh ammonia clouds, boulder-size clumps speeding through the planet's faint rings, the structure inside volcanic eruptions on its moon Io, and the path of charged particles traversing the previously unexplored length of the planet's long magnetic tail.
New Horizons passed our solar system's largest planet on its way to Pluto, which it should reach in 2015. I was right!!!
European Southern Observatory In Chile Discovers New Solar System.
The team used an instrument known as the High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS) to locate the system.
Geneva University Observatory's Chiristophe Lovis led the team that made the discovery. He noted that it was possibly "the system with the most planets yet discovered."
The solar system is known to harbor five exoplanets (those outside of our solar system) circling a sun-like star HD 10180, and is suspected to contain two additional planets.
"It's a very interesting discovery," said Dante Minniti, an expert on exoplanets at Universidad Católica. "They have discovered a system of five planets, and if the other two are confirmed, this system would be the most similar to our own."

For many with schizophrenia, religion represents an important resource for coping.
Looking at mental health statistics in and around London there is greater than 60 percent psychotic (involving a "loss of contact with reality" ) patients who suffer from psychotic episodes but use religion as a significant coping much like the majority of Saudi Arabian patients with schizophrenia use religious forms of coping to combat their auditory hallucinations.
Over millions of years, retroviruses, which insert their genetic material into the host genome as part of their replication, have left behind bits of their genetic material in vertebrate genomes.
Virologists have been analysing human tissue and whilst looking into the genome have uncovered that human and other vertebrate genomes also contain many ancient sequences from Ebola/Marburgviruses and Bornaviruses -- two deadly virus families.

Viability refers to a point in fetal development at which the fetus may survive outside the womb. The lower limit of viability is approximately five months gestational age, and usually late.
There is no sharp limit of development, age, or weight at which a fetus automatically becomes viable. According to data years 2003-2005, 20 to 35 percent of babies born at 23 weeks of gestation survive, while 50 to 70 percent of babies born at 24 to 25 weeks, and more than 90 percent born at 26 to 27 weeks, survive. It is rare for a baby weighing less than 500 gm to survive.
When such babies are born, the main causes of perinatal mortality is that the respiratory system and the central nervous system are not completely differentiated. If given expert postnatal care, some fetuses weighing less than 500 gm may survive, being are referred to as extremely low birth weight or immature infants. Preterm birth is the most common cause of perinatal mortality, causing almost 30 percent of neonatal deaths.
The insanity of some people makes me sick! Educate our children to the best of our abilities, don't let your religious dogma get in the way; teach the truth and our children and our children's children will excel. The future is in our hands; let's take science to the next level, a new Darwin, Einstein or Newton to name a few.
During the divinations, Paul was presented with two boxes containing food in the form of a mussel, each box marked on the outside with the flag of a national football team in an upcoming match.
In the 2010 World Cup. He correctly predicted a win for Spain against the Netherlands in the World Cup final on 11 July by eating the mussel in the box with the Spanish flag on it. His predictions were 100% (8/8) correct for the 2010 World Cup!
Freedom of Speech, the so called 1st Amendment? What a joke in the USA! I'm annoyed at getting blocked and my comments removed, just because I had logical answers the Creationists run and hide.
These reptiles are mostly active during the twilight and occasionally bask in the sun, but are more often found hiding beneath rocks and logs. They are carnivorous and, because they feed on slugs and worms, they can often be found in long grass and other damp environments.
The females give birth to live young (ovoviviparous birth). In the days leading up to birth the female can often be seen basking in the sun on a warm road.

Welcome to the Creationist Matrix!
Dr Craig Venter said his researchers had built a DNA strand from scratch and inserted it into a simple bacterium, creating so-called synthetic life.
Applications of the study include the production of medicines and biofuels, and could even help in the absorption of greenhouse gases.
A report published in the Science journal details how the team effectively stimulated a yeast cell into taking on a new life.
Scientists at first made short strands of DNA and then put them together to form a chromosome, which was then inserted into the yeast cell, replacing its native DNA.
They found the cell took on the appearance and behaviour of the transplanted chromosome, generating different proteins and multiplying.
The failure to teach primary school children scientific truth is playing into the hands of advocates of creationism - the belief that God created the world in six days.
Make sure our children know the difference between fact and fantasy, please!

Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, have asked human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging Pope Benedict XVI over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.
The remarkable remains of two ancient human-like creatures (hominids) have been found in South Africa.
The fossils of a female adult and a juvenile male - perhaps mother and son - are just under two million years old.
They were uncovered in cave deposits at Malapa not far from Johannesburg.
Researchers tell the journal Science that the creatures fill an important gap between older hominids and the group of more modern species known as Homo, which includes our own kind.
The team has assigned the name Australopithecus sediba to their finds.
"It's at the point where we transition from an ape that walks on two legs to, effectively, us," lead scientist Professor Lee Berger of the University of the Witwatersrand told BBC News.
"I think that probably everyone is aware that this period of time - that period between 1.8 and just over two million years [ago] - is one of the most poorly represented in the entire early hominid fossil record. You're talking about a very small, very fragmentary record," he explained.
In a pastoral letter to Irish Catholics, he acknowledged the sense of betrayal in the Church felt by victims and their families.
The Pope said there had been "serious mistakes" among bishops in responding to allegations of paedophilia.
The pastoral letter is the first statement of its kind by the Vatican on the sexual abuse of children.
It follows revelations of paedophilia within the Irish Catholic Church, which have rocked the institution.
