Degrassi: Welcome Home DTNGislifee 2011-09-25 | * re-uploaded because youtube didn't publish it properly. thanks to those who saw it last week & left lovely feedback :) * Whoa...did I just make a 4-and-a-half minute video...in one day? That must be some new record for me. Amazing, how much I can get done when I have a bio lab I don't feel like doing ;) Okay, so I feel a bit nervous uploading this video, mainly because I love this song to bits and I'm so worried I didn't use it to its full potential with this video. I was actually originally thinking of pairing this song with Harry Potter, but then I realized there were already about 10 HP videos with this song made. So, naturally, my next choice was Degrassi. With this video, I tried to display more of a "home is where the heart is" type of message. I focused a lot on the relationships on the show - couples, friends, siblings, parents, children...the people who bring eachother happiness, home; a sense of belonging. So, despite how (surprisingly) quickly I was able to make this, I did really work hard on it and I really wanted it to be perfect. But, as with almost everything I make, it didn't quite turn out how I envisioned. Still, I hope you all like it! Also; I just wanted to explain the quote I used (from Craig) in the middle of the video. It might seem a bit strange or out-of-place, but what I was trying to show with it is that everyone, at one point or another, feels insignificant, unimportant, worthless...and they may feel like nobody cares. But there will always be someone out there looking out for you, caring for you, there to make you feel at home wherever you may be. A part of me wanted to make it longer, but the "chorus" is really the only part I felt like vidding, and I figured the song was repetitive enough without me vidding the same part 10 times over again. Drew & Bianca: Trouble DTNGislifee 2011-09-03 | Whew, it's finally done! I actually started this video the night the season 11 premiere aired. I just thought the song fit their situation well; like Drew said, Bianca brought a lot of history with her, and, of course, it caught up to her - and Drew was caught in the middle of it all. When I originally planned out this video, it was all meant to be from Bianca's POV song-wise; she never meant to bring all of this danger and drama into Drew's life. Then, as the season went on, their storylines kind of split into Drew feeling traumatized by the attack, and Bianca being stuck with Vince in order to save Drew. So I tried to show their seperate stories and then how it all came together in the end; Drew's fighting made him feel more in control, resulting in him feeling kind of over-confident and confronting Vince when he found out about what he had been doing to Bianca - which, of course, led to Drew inviting Bianca to the prom to get away from Vince, leading to Vince coming to their prom and Drew beating him, which then causes Vince to open fire and end up shooting Adam. (My poor baby! I'm glad he is going to be okay, but oh my god when he was lying on the floor in his blood and screaming out, I could not control my emotions at all. I was crying and had goosebumps and just...dear lord, it was bad.)Anyways, once again I've gone and written a freaking essay in the description box. I guess I'll just end this off by saying I hope you guys all enjoy this video; the Drew/Bianca storyline was definitely my favourite so far this season. It's funny, when they first got together, all I could think was "Ew, Drew! Get away from her! Don't you remember how she treated your brother?" Then season 11 rolled around, and I fell in love with them and all their crazy drama. I honestly do hope they get back together when the new episodes come around, once everything with Vince and the gang is sorted out. Don't get me wrong, I like Katie and everything she's done for Drew, but I don't think Drew & Bianca were ever really given a fair chance, and I'd love to see them get a shot at some semblance of a normal relationship. I actually finished this video a while ago, but stupid Vegas cut out the last clip when it rendered (yes, that black space at the end was actually supposed to have clips). I kept meaning to re-render it with the part restored at the end, but I never got around to it and when I got my computer re-formatted, I forgot to save the updated Vegas file so I lost it. In the end I just decided to upload it as is, because despite the small glitch I really like how this video came out. And, just saying, if Adam gets hurt next week (which seems likely based on the finale promos), and that's him that Eli & Clare (along with Katie and Drew) are kneeling down next to in the promo, I really hope he'll be alright - Adam is seriously like my baby; I love him so much. And I've really been missing the friendship between these 3 since the Eli/Clare breakup, so hopefully we get some more of it soon! Eli Goldsworthy: Already Over DTNGislifee 2011-07-28 | "I give it all to you, letting go of me; reaching as I fall..." I've started more than I can count, but I've never been able to sit down and complete one. Truthfully, I've had a difficult time finding a song that I thought really fit Eli. I think Eli is a great character, he's very complex and layered and I think Munro does an excellent job portraying all sides of him -anxious, depressed, funny, protective, and juust a bit crazy ;) He, along with Adam and Fiona, is one of my favourite new additions to the cast in the past few seasons, and I'm excited to see where he goes next. Now that I've finished the video (well, I actually finished it about a week or two ago, but Vegas issues as well as a trip to New York meant I had to wait to render & upload it), I kind of wish I waited a bit so I could add some scenes from season 11, since I loved his episode last night and it looks like tonight is going to be a great Eli episode as well, but in the end I was just fed up with this video and decided to focus on his journey/breakdown that we saw throughout season 10. I focused more on the unsubs, the killings, and the violence in this show rather than the profilers themselves. I've been wanting to use this song in a video for a while, and for me Criminal Minds just...fit. Unfortunately, I could only get as far as I did, then I ran out of inspiration. Maybe someday I'll make a longer version, but for now I'm going to keep it like this. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big Eli/Clare shipper - but I've been wanting to make a vid about these two since we found out about Julia. This video is from Eli's POV after Julia's death. I included his hoarding problem that he developed after her death, and how he keeps seeing her everywhere he goes. I used Kaya as Julia because that's how I always pictured her, and I'm not quite sure why... xD I loved making this video, mainly because their relationship was new and exciting to vid, and also because I'm hyping myself up for the new Degrassi in just 2 weeks! :) Hope you guys enjoy the video! -song info; END of video.

I wanted to pay tribute to all of the great storylines and characters throughout the years, as well as the amazing actors who brought them to life. I really tried to fit in all of the characters, and I know I featured some characters more heavily than others, but in the end I think it's pretty well-balanced. He has to be my favourite S10 character, and one of my favourite Degrassi characters ever. He's just such a sweetheart and he struggles with so much just day-to-day, but still manages to keep his head up and be cute as ever. Seriously, he is so much stronger than he is given credit for.
