Luts are fun, but sometimes their luma "correction" can cause issues. In this Davinci Resolve tutorial we go over a cool node setup that allows us to throw out those luma changes and just keep those sweet nougaty color changes. Also we get to use a spitter/combiner node setup which is always fun!

False color was something that I avoided in grading for a long time because it was slow and I was/am a snob, but then I saw the False Color plugin from Time In Pixels and my mind was blown. It gives you a separate window for your false color! This makes judging the brightness of your image a snap which is something that I personally was very self conscious about for a long time.

This saves time in post by eliminating synchronization and camera matching. Though it doesn't look quite as nice as actually using 2 cameras for small/low budget productions this is a great technique to be able to use the money saved to make other aspects better ie: more shoot time, better talents/locations, or just a higher margin (hey I wont judge).
