Thus, I am presenting a Parallax RFID Reader (spec sheet for you fellow engineers) using a RasPi running Arch Linux. I assume you all know this, but in case you were under a rock: The RasPi has the GPIO set of pins on the board. These can be leveraged for all sorts of projects. In my case I noticed the UART Tx and Rx. Serial Port Transmit and Receive, so to speak...I picked up the reader on clearance at a local Radio Shack for $10. I've been playing with it on my linux machines, via a 2" Rs232 adapter, but I decided tonight to plug it straight into the RasPi. However, as we linux users know it takes a bit more than plugging it in and playing...#Setup======The Project needed a few things:1) A Linux Distro2) The Parallax Reader + wiring3) Programs to capture and view the RFID Reader... I was pretty amazed by the quality of the gun, since most "exclusive" items are shite.The video is laggy, but there wasn't much I could do with the recorder running at 9 Frames. It's a free recorder and running HD is just something it can't handle.

God of War II on the PC via PCSX II Phrasz013 2009-07-17 | So I wanted to play my PS2 games, but they look horrendous when placed on composite on the 32". The alternative was emulators. I have attempted to find the "legal" (as in grey area of the law) alternative. I recently discovered how to back up my own bios (see this video: ), and when combined with the PCSX II Emulator it allows me to play my ps2 games on my PC. Notes: ---------- 1) See my blog for more details on backing up the bios. (http://phrasz.blogspot.com) 2) See PCSX II (http://www.pcsx2.net) 3) Look at my blog for more settings of the emulator (see lin in #1) 4) My System specs are: AMD Phenom 9950 (quad core @ 2.6), 8 Gb Ram 800 Mhz, and using a 1Gb Saphire Radeon HD 3850. NOTICE: The game has some impassable sections involving cut scenes freezing. ((POTENTIAL SPOILERS)): I froze during the second Prometheus cut scene and before getting to the island of creation. Solution: You have to load your game on to a flash with a program called "mymc", code breaker transfer, get through the scene, and then offload back to the PC.....bottom line it's a pain, thus you might want to wait a bit to play GoWII.
