"you're gonna have to make it a killing shot." ; inspired by the story of william tell, who was made to shoot an apple off his son's head with one arrow, else his son would be executed. his shot was successful, but he had saved another arrow just in case, ready to kill his son himself if he were to fail.
i heard about this story and it caught me off guard, and reminded me of what terrifying lengths one can go to for a loved one.

(im going to sound like such a queer millennial but it also made me think of finger guns)

which brings me to my numerous other questions, and to the video; though it's not really how this one started.

"ode to lost souls" is the third video of a series i've been working on, the first one being "dance of souls," followed by "ode to flames."

i've written so much poetry about all of this that there is no real end to it, nor an actual start... it's just a discontinuous fragment of my messy mind brought to some extent of materiality, like a few impulses of colour.

i kind of wanted to show that i may have a different perspective on love, not necessary the one that society expects, and it's a bit confusing, but i wanted to use the song "winter" to show the oxymoron of the way i see the warmth that other perceive in love but that i can lack of. i have no idea if this makes sense and i'm too tired to go over what i've just written, at this point i'm just trying to gather all of my messy notes into one description,,, ah.

metaphors of birds, mere mentions of icarus, archery and paradoxical choices, dissociation, blocking some noise and words, overcoming intrusive and self-destructive thoughts.

there are probably a few mistakes in this, and it's not completely as,,, accurate (?) as i would like it to be, but it almost ended up in the lost corners of my software, so i'm proud i finished it.
definitely not my best, and some choices i made are up for debate, and i'll probably regret some of them the minute i publish this. but. let's shoot my shot, am i right?

this video has been so hard to make, and with all the things i've come to understand, it somehow made it ever harder to edit harry and hermione again? i love them so, so much, but hell... they hit so close to home.

i feel like i've been coming out a lot in my recent videos, so i might as well address the elephant in the room and say that this is a very singular and partial tribute to me belonging somewhere in the ace spectrum.

this might be my last video edit in a long while? i'm going to study abroad in london next year, and i'll try to focus more on my writing... i'm always available on twitter if some of you are willing to discuss existential crisis and capitalism destruction; take care ☼

i mean - i could quote the entire book, and i could (i will) eventually make other videos about hyyh. it broke me and fixed me all at the same time.
i fvcking loved it to no end.

this video is a bit uncanny (familiar but new); i was planning on uploading it around may but uni won't let me live. so i changed the way i had wanted to do this and i guess this video could actually be divided in two independent parts. both are still obviously linked with each other and are part of this new mini series i have in mind (starting with my previous video, "dance of souls," and following this journey of soul mysteries that i have with another video that i didn't get the chance to start working on yet).
ode to flames had many other titles, going from "first love" (as an echo to my video "confession" and as a reference to beckett's first love + suga's song first love) to "ode to lost souls." i kinda wrote a poem about this but it's still a work in progress, and i'm not sure where to go with the third video yet, we'll see where time and space take me;

you thudes don't even know how long it's been since i've tried to make a video with an organ instrumental; fINALLY it's here and i am so proud of it. i hope you'll enjoy this chaos with me.
the soundscape is probably the most important part of this, going from the weigh of silence to destructive cacophony, it's been my favourite thing to work on, and i reckon it's an easy way to convey things that i couldn't really express with words and through the footage here.

'tainted youth;'

i haven't officially come out 'irl,' but i have been struggling with gender identity for years, and i am trying to accept myself more. the name that most of you here on youtube might know me as is now a deadname that i only use IRL because i'm only out on the internet; but now, my real name here is Nikan, so if you ever want to talk to me or about me, please use it (or just kiwiichann), with they/them pronouns.
there are pain and doubts and self-hatred in this video - and it's always been there, unconsciously, in most of the previous ones - but there's also so much more acceptance, i hope that you can accept it too. i hope that you can accept yourself, too.

that good old editing style of mine is back here! can you see/feel it? i always get nostalgic around this time of the year; it's been EIGHT (8) years (!!!!!!!!) since i've started video editing, and here i am now.

this one almost ended up in the surrealism section (i feel like i keep saying this for all my videos fjdlksfjd); i don't even know if it's worth keeping in mind.

the lyrics, eh? i'll keep that for another time.

this time, i decided to focus more on hyyh Jimin and Hoseok, and coincidentally today's 'save me' episode FINALLY introduced them, so that's pretty great.
it's the focus on a dance that somehow manages to keep a hold on everything that has never been material. Jimin follows Hoseok, and together they become this centre of gravity that keeps the others grounded to reality.
(they're the compass in John Donne's "A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning").

you gravitate around this 'idea' [idea?]; but it's never been a constant. it is the same empire, though... the dust in millions of individual stardoms fly free.

you guys may know that we've both spent a week together in the netherlands (which resulted in the vlog i've made recently) and it was probably one of the best weeks of my entire life.
now; i've started working on this collab two days before i actually took the train to see emma, but i was already feeling so good just thinking about it, and i'd almost finished all of my parts in just one day. those parts are probably one of the best i've ever made in my life (am i exaggerating... i'm not even sure!). honestly,,, i'm very grateful for my friendship with ems, and as i already mentioned, i'd never felt so carefree before, and spending that time with her really made me feel so good inside and out, it's something i want to always keep close when i'm struggling, and i'm so glad that this collab shows exactly that side of me, of her, and of us.

LONG STORY SHORT: this is basically the most positive video that will ever be uploaded on this channel, and you all owe it to ems, so you can just go and thank her right now. (please just do it)

or how you can totally change the meaning of a song just by cutting it right. well; not /totally/, I could have vidded that song in so many different ways and it would have still worked with yoonkook, especially since yoongi lost his mum in the hyyh universe, but that's not quite what I was looking for in the end.

What I love so much about BTS and their universe when it comes to hyyh and all the theories is how endless and subjective it is. We've all individually imagined, embellished our own story with it, we all have our own headcanons, symbols and anchors, and I think it's so important to have a little world like this that can represent us so well.

The more I listened to this song the more it made me think of something, then I knew it automatically belonged to the series of surrealist videos I've been making. It's been getting harder to differentiate those from my other videos because to a certain extent I've reached a point where they all somehow belong there, and I usually don't add anything that's directly and so obviously linked to a couple... but I think it's different with them, and with BTS/hyyh as a whole.
Each time I edit with songs by her it gets emotional in the right way, I struggled a bit with this one but eventually managed to go exactly where I wanted.

about the title, a little tricky too; probably more of an untold confession that ends up being one just to myself for myself? that or I'm just running very far away.

I've rarely felt so carefree; I just spent an entire week with Emma in the netherlands and I've basically had the best time! I was able to work on my first travel vlog ever, and I'm so glad I got to do it with her. There's really something that clicks with her and me when it comes to expressing ourselves with video editing, and with art in general, I guess?
We've done so many things, wandered around in amsterdam, visited her hometown, seen the Van Gogh museum and other paintings, danced like nobody was watching which really isn't something I would normally allow myself to do in public?? AND YET!! that's probably the only reason why I allowed myself to include footage with me in this, because for once I felt really good, so enjoy the both of us being dorks and co ;)

I've always wanted to work on a project like this, with my own footage, and it was finally possible; so here's to another step in that area... I struggled a lot in the train back home to decide on what song to pick, but this one has been special to me ever since I've heard it, and suddenly it only seemed natural to use it for this.

make a wish;

It took me weeks to finally come up with something, and this project changed a lot over that time, it went from something very sweet to vague ideas with different songs (I even almost started working with "rêverie" by Debussy) to what it is now.
I guess the piano doesn't disturb me as much as it used to...? Or maybe it's just the whole aesthetic of it, I'm not sure.

I've been wanting to focus on Jungkook and Yoongi specifically for a long time, and I'm glad this didn't end up as a basic video of the two. This is so chaotic and fragmented; hell. I love it.
They're both on the edge in the hyyh story, on the edge of the question of life and death, it's just shown differently; depression, hollowness isn't something that you see but something you feel. I guess that was my starting point for this project.
The song I've chosen (a masterpiece while we're at it) is not necessarily about a breakup with someone else, but it's also a breakup with your own self. That's what I really loved about this album, both apply, and what I wanted to show here was the struggle of both the characters of Yoongi and of Jungkook with each other and with themselves.
They both mean a great deal to me for several reasons? And by them that implies their characters and their real selves, too.

I really LOVE all my latest videos, I can feel myself more in them and everything is more genuine, kind of unbridled, more free than it used to be.

BTS' latest album... with all the melodies, the lyrics... it's helped a lot and it's very relatable, I definitely recommend it!

surrender. [BTS - fake love]

Surrender; I like how this term goes both ways. You can surrender to a state of complete bliss, or surrender to the void. But there's darkness in life too.
I kind of found another obsession with the complex mechanisms of the mind, all the tricks, smirks, tensions and beats it creates in us. Because it's not just the heart, it has a lot to do with the imaginary, the daydreams, the neck and lungs... so for once I thought I would let go, exhale and surrender to temptation to try and stop being afraid of my own body, to try to stop searching for a perfect definition.

It took me 3 videos to go exactly where I wanted (I hadn't planned for them to complete each other like that, I was just looking for something, and surprisingly it came on its own!), and since I finally found that one thing, I allowed myself to put a period instead of a coma at the end, because I reckon it's the end of this mini series, until I find something else to look for. It had unconsciously started with "after the rain," where I showed that Taehyung was about to jump, then it followed with "humanity" as he jumped, and "the edge" when he plunged into the water... and now here we are, with what's under the surface.
This is surely gay, too. I mean, I shouldn't even mention it, but it is.

this almost ended up as another surrealism video, I literally stared at my screen blankly for 15 minutes before I finally made up my mind, because when I really think about it all my videos almost belong in that section no matter what happens, so...

am I supposed to be studying instead? yes. but. I guess my mind had other plans.
I had started this video right after I got back from my holidays at the sea (and I basically completely changed it, it was longer at first)... because yes, I finally got to enjoy the sea again, the sunset, everything was there.
for a moment it was me again and it felt like myself, and I was finally, finally able to breathe. and to exhale... I went back to Paris for a day just to go watch Love Simon, which is also where that word, exhale, comes from,,, and it was exactly what I had needed to hear.
everything that I've felt and lived there is something I won't feel in a long time, so it makes this whole experience very bittersweet.

I had planned on doing something like this for a while but I didn't think it would come out like this at first, though it's probably something that I'll have to carry on in several videos to fully grasp the concept; but this definitely belongs to the series of surrealism videos I've been making, too.

I just really hope that you know that it's okay if you're queer, your identity is valid, your feelings are valid, we hear you and your voice matters to us.
This video is kind of born from my need to express that, even though it's not the first time. But I've been struggling with this for a while and I hope that this will help.

"[...] I feel like I need to 'let go' even though it's so hard. Take my surrealist videos, they're probably the ones where I break the fourth wall the most, but there's always something that stops me from doing it all the way down, you know? I just feel like I'm in a period when I want to go beyond the limit I usually underline but never use afterwards.

I think we can divide my time on youtube in different 'eras,' and ever since I came back from my vidding break... it's not the one where I have the most views but it's the one where I'm genuine and that's all that matters to me.

It was on the radio when I woke up, but I didn't fully realise it until I was in literature class and I suddenly wanted to cry so bad.
Stephen Hawking is a huge loss, and he always got me absorbed in this mysterious universe of wonders and circles of thoughts and questions, possibilities that I never directly related to him, but that was something he still managed to bring me when I was seeing his name of just thinking about him.
The fight that he's fought every second of his life -- I had ended up seeing him as immortal, just like time itself. His death touched my soul in ways I never could have fathomed.
These parallel universes he believes in, I believe in them too and it's one of the things that fascinates me the most and that inspires me and my work. So, as a tribute to him, here's a small part of my own universe. Even though it doesn't do him justice.

I hope he's finding everything he was looking for.

It was my seven year vidding anniversary on March 1st, but I didn't have time to make a video for the occasion... I think it's a beautiful coincidence, though, in this case, with the notion of time, of the universe, space...
Lately I've been telling myself to let go. Sometimes it's ringing in my head, "let it go, let it go, let it go."
I don't think my dysphoria has ever been this high before. I've never felt so stuck in my own body. I still don't know how to label myself, but it's just one of these moments when I want to add the "gender queer/non binary" box next to "male" or "female" in all of those forms you've got to fill up... that and scream to the world that we should normalise "they/them" pronouns. or both, really.
Last Saturday, I actually felt so good inside and out, but it was just for a day, and it made me realise how awful I REALLY feel all of the time, and it scares me a lot. I want to feel like this again. I hope I will soon enough.

that bloody determination I truly used to feel when I vid -- it is BACK here. how do I start explaining that moment, when vidding manages to turn my raw emotions into determination? wow

I can't really explain why I chose this song in particular, especially since I already vidded the original version once, but let's face it the video I made was awful, so maybe that's my way of doing it justice... and also because I wanted to vid the instrumental part so bad, it's making me feel so many things and I think I managed to show it particularly well here.
I'm not even sure of my own interpretation of the song? I'm not sure why I reckon my answer to "is this called living or something else?" is "love," and I don't mean it in a cheesy way... just, the mere acceptance of the word and its effect on us. And also because it's something I just don't really say, I guess.

I reckon I can actually make great things when I work with great cinematography...? I'm proud of this, the meaning behind it is very crucial as well... but about BTS in particular, their short-movies, their entire story behind each of their clips... it's not just about their music, it's about the message that they carry around beyond it.
If you don't listen to them, I hope that it'll at least make you want to discover the short-movies they did... hell, does it speak. (spoiler alert YES IT DOES)

This year... was a bumpy ride.
I guess that's where this suddenly came from! I made this today in just a few hours and I didn't even get the time to fully immerse myself in it, it was already over. but hell - I finally did Rogue One justice; I'm so proud of the result.

Just -- listen to this composer. and pay attention to all of his lyrics. pure genius.

I hope that 2018 will be better than 2017, cause 2017 was pretty much hell even though I've discovered so many things about my life and myself that changed me for the better. but it's been a tough year for many reasons and I've actually felt quite lonely at times, even though I'm probably the one to blame for it... but aaah. It's just so hard to talk to people in a society still so much anchored into double standards and all of these things. I wish I could express more here but I can't really find my words.
There's been this whole bunch of new emotions I'd never thought I would feel that have been there and that got me all confused and scared -- others that have given me strength; so I'd say that this year has been pretty unstable, even when it comes to editing itself. And I'm kind of scared to know what's next, or what might not come next.

I really, really wish I could be more confident in myself. This lack of confidence has been lurking around ever since I was a child, and it's not something that will suddenly disappear, but this has become such a liability on so many levels... wh y.

Anyways, this is my last video of 2017, I hope you'll all celebrate properly, carry on with your dreams, and achieve great things next year; you all deserve it. Thank you for your incredible support!!!

HELLO AGAIN

How am I supposed to start? It's almost been 4 months since I last made a video. For those of you who follow me on twitter you know that I've actually been on a vidding break for the first time in six years... which is pretty scary, I guess? It's hard and long to explain, and I'm sorry I've been quiet here on youtube, but it's complex and I've actually felt this coming for quite some time (if you want more details you can always read this here: twitter.com/winterxhope/status/924375283590946816 ). Let's just say that my never-ending existential crisis influenced and changed a LOT of things in my life - but I wouldn't change a thing now.

I just want to make things clear - for you, and probably for myself too - when I first started working on another vidding project after my 3-month break, I literally thought that this was going to be the last video I would post here, and all I wanted to do was burst into tears (I definitely didn't edit that night and waited another week to pluck up the courage to work on this lol). But that's definitely not it; I'm not saying goodbye to YT right now, I guess I'm just saying hello again? I think I'll definitely edit less, but that's because I'll be focused on other projects.
I'm going to make the final cut of a short movie that we'll shoot this December, and for me this is so HUGE!!! I've also started writing a lot of poems... and I'm still completely, utterly in love with video editing. It's just that I can't limit myself to short YT videos any longer, if I do that, if anything, that's what will make me leave for good.

I hope you'll understand, and I hope you'll realise that this is the reason why I didn't come back with a HP video. I realise that pretty much nobody here will watch this just because it's not HP content (and somehow this makes me so upset because I'm not limited to just that). But I don't care. Contrary to what some people here may believe, I'm not here for HP, HP was here for me before, it's important to make the difference, and I'm looking for so much more now.
It's never been just about HP. It's never been just about fandoms. It's not just about BTS here. It's about what you make with it and how you choose to edit.

The quote at the beginning of the video was written by my favourite poet, Paul Eluard (I had to bring him up again):

I have no idea how I made it possible but my soul has been in that project, and I can feel it, and it's an incredible feeling. I've spent two days, two WHOLE days, non stop, on this. I've been on could nine for two days long, and I thought I would feel empty as usual after finishing a project, but surprisingly I've never felt so happy afterwards. I still feel empty, but there's a weight that's been lifted, more than usual. it's like this print still remains, hard to explain.

I just - aaaaah. I'm so passionate when it comes to them. everything about them makes me feel. I never thought I could ship them harder than before but I was so bloody wrong :))))
Matt would literally do anything for her. they both find balance in each other, with this constant notion of light and dark. Elektra makes him live, she's always accepted the fact that Daredevil was Matt and that Matt was Daredevil, and that both weren't separate personalities. he would sacrifice himself to keep her safe, he put her first before the city that he loves... a love like this? it's everything.

If you want a good show to watch, the defenders is definitely the one. I was so hyped, it's been a long while. I was literally crying real tears during episode 8. aaaaaaaaaaaah

Matt Murdock... I hadn't realised how much I was actually in love with him until now. he's on my top 3.

Happy 37th birthday to Harry James Potter, my favourite, ever. I'm sure I never realised how much he meant to me until I started video editing - maybe not even then. It just happened without me being aware of it and it seemed so obvious I didn't even know that he was helping me through hell of a lot at school, and everywhere else, as a teenager, as a child, opening the first doors of my imagination, that boy with a scar who left one on me - my hero.

WHY IS HE SO UNDER APPRECIATED??!

This video; I am so proud of it! It's not entirely perfect, but the tone and atmosphere I've managed to bring out here is exactly what I had in mind, so I'm very satisfied with the final cut.
I love to make these complex videos when it's more than just what comes straight ahead.
Harry's struggle is so complex, it's more than moral and just physical, it's magical too; how he keeps struggling with his own magic and the one from Voldemort's fragment inside him.
I reckon I understood why and how much I really cared and enjoyed Credence's character so much in FB while I was making that video. Credence is what Harry could have easily become. There's this whole parallel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, and Credence and Harry; it had come to my attention right after I first watched FB, all the things we've learnt with the obscurus, it made me feel even closer to Harry, if that's even possible. Harry's so strong, he's been through hell and back, without hesitation. He's so much more than just a symbol or an eponymous character to me, he's this strength and courage, this feeling that we all need that keeps us going.
Deaf explosion - it ends before it begins, or before it ends, depending on how you choose to look at it.
In a way, this is more than just about Harry; the atmosphere, the harpsichord, it's also about the feeling beyond the footage.
Maybe there's also this feeling of repression, the large black bands, breaking the mirror...; and it's funny how this initially was a harmony video, they always help, and I reckon you can still see it if you're careful enough.

I want to dedicate this to Sumaya as well, because she inspires me to see deeper into things, and even deeper into my own self at times, which is pretty incredible.. and a little scary. Also because she once told me that my HJP videos made her appreciate him more, and I know there are some hints in this video that she's going to love for sure. or she's just going to die. probably both. gnehehe

The Harry Potter saga is 20 years old today so that's the perfect day to do this, I CALL THIS A MAGIC MIRACLE! I AM SO EMOTIONAL; Harry Potter means everything to me, and I love Harry James Potter with all of my heart. But you obviously already knew that.

I was in a bad place when I uploaded this back in January, if I remember correctly (and I do, I do) but I'm still proud that I didn't let it show that much in my editing over here in YT. ('I'll take a huge breath and stop there')
It's funny because I've been watching this video again and thinking things over, and there's a strong parallel between what happens in the video - with Harry trying to avoid making the same mistakes - and what I've been trying to do recently. So this definitely is the perfect time to bring this back.
Not to mention the fact that it's Pride Month and that Love is Love and that I ship Hedric SO HARD.

I'm very glad I got the chance to upload this again because I was so passionate and into it when I edited this, I'm very proud of the result!

I did this in a day and it's a bit rushed but not really and a bit messy but more chaotic and aaah I don't know; it's kind of nice, isn't it?

So I went to the pride parade for the first time in my life today and it was mindblowing, emotional, moving, full of pride and love and peace and I was delighted!
So where does this video come from; I've seen Emma Watson for real and this meant more than I could fathom on spur of the moment; it turns out that I'm still really not over the speech she made about gender for the MTV awards, and for her role as Belle, so this was constantly in my mind when I made this.
What Emma Watson is fighting for, what she said... it all came back when I saw her and I just knew I had to make this.
And yeah I mean, the whole thing about pride and my existential crisis (all of them lmao) and all the questions I've been asking myself, what I've been feeling, realising... I can never put all of this into one video, but this is one part of all of this mess. Dreaming of adventure, fighting for what I believe in, speaking up my mind (or at least what's understandable enough in it), being honest with my friends... and so on.
Random fact but what I also love about surrealist poets is that the loved one is what makes them feel alive, and not the poet who brings the loved one alive.. which is a big difference.

This is dedicated to Hortense because she was with me when I met Emma Watson and I know how much she loves her; dedicated to Emma because you're an incredible inspiration and I can still see myself in you sometimes; dedicated to Regina because I know you'll always, ALWAYS be there when it comes to talk about this stuff, who I am, how I'm feeling, the whole existential part of my brain, I'm so grateful.

This is the first AC game I've ever played, I started it in January; the soundtracks are the reason why I've started tbh, and I've been wanting to do that for so long, years, but never got the opportunity up until that point.
Many people actually criticise this game - unity - but I honestly don't get why, I've loved it to death, I was completely into the story, and I love Arno.
I'm currently playing to AC Syndicate which is really good as well, and I've been watching AC 1 & 2 on YouTube, so let's just say I'm obsessed with this universe at the moment lol

Ubisoft will always have a special place in my heart thanks to one of their first games, Hype and the Time Quest - it feels like I'm the only one who used to play to that game, and it's a shame, it was brilliant! Hype is still one of my favourite heroes... and you can definitely see the influence of that game in AC.

This project almost ended up in the trash, almost, until I suddenly watched one part I had been working on over and over again and it just all clicked somehow (funny how it's always the tragic part that manages to do that eh).

I'm pretty sure this comes from the fact that I've finally been writing down a dream of mine; I've got to keep doing this and carry on.

Most of my nightmares consist in me trying to run to reach something - always someone - and never being able to reach it in time, because I run in slow motion or I'm stuck. This kind of thing helped me understand slow motion in cinema better than I used to. Among other things that I can't really explain.
I never get to see them die in my dreams. I just know it's going to happen and then I wake up. And that's the end of the video. I never see their faces.
Also, most of my descriptions on these yt boxes are only drafts of ideas that I need to push further, and I'm only writing this sentence for further reference @ myself. So Lucie, if you're reading this in the future, keep writing your dreams down, use slow motion, and if you have no idea what I'm saying right now it's your fault because you should have written everything down. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

AU with a similar ending; Harry still comes back to life after he dies at the Battle of Hogwarts, except that this time Hermione is here when it happens. The rest follows some headcanons I have of what would happen next between them... though the video doesn't reveal everything that I have in mind. It would have been less of a blur if I had vidded the whole song, but it wouldn't have been the same. I was originally planning on vidding the whole song, because it's absolutely marvelous... but let's not spoil it even more.

I loved this movie SO MUCH. Just cinematographically speaking it was ten times better than the Harry Potter movies (no offence, I'm just stating the facts here xD)
I'll never be able to describe the feeling I got when I was in the theatre and when the warner bros logo appeared, with the music... I was already gone. Completely gone and back to my childhood and to this magical universe.
And vidding this brought me back in 2011 when we first got hands on the DH films, when there were tons of vidders still vidding Harry Potter... I miss those days so much, I hope that Fantastic Beasts will bring that back!
Sometimes I just take a moment and realise... I'm still there. 6 years...!

I made this in 6 hours in a row yesterday night, and I finished adding the voiceovers this morning, I was so into this. I just love to be completely into my work like that, it's the best feeling while editing, forgetting about everything else... ☼
I'm pretty sure that's what made me dream of Harry that night btw, all the more reasons to keep vidding until midnight instead of studying xD

6 years (hOW? xD) and hopefully more to come? Are you guys still up to follow me on this incredible journey? It went too far on too many spheres to end anyway.
I'm so proud I let my badass side come back like this, and not in some awkward overplayed approach. In a way, it makes it even more badass lol.
I was looking at my vidding progression and realised that this video is very similar to the one I'd made on March 1st, 2012. I've been wanting to go back to the past - so many strings attached. But I can't come back to that place, and it's scary because I'll never vid like I used to, I'll never feel like I used to while doing so. I thought about the eventuality of having to stop, someday, but this video only made me hold on to editing even more. Vidding is the best thing that happened to me, it's my best adventure so far.

It's not just about me anymore. It's how, at times, I manage to affect people with what I create. And it's the greatest feeling. Thank you!

This was the hardest video I ever had to make, Emma will probably tell you the same thing. What we are showing here is so genuine - it's so us, that it's almost beautifully painful to watch.
You'll see the constant motion between light and darkness, darkness and light, needed to create the perfect balance in life, I guess? It's in the colours of the clips themselves as well as in the emotion they produce -inside and out- it's in the way we see and feel things... I am so, so proud of this collab. And I'm so proud of Emma and how she used some clips, her choices and the meaning of some very precise scenes... I AM SO PROUD! I've said it before and I'll say it again, Emma is my vidding soulmate, I feel so much. I'm honoured to work with her, especially on this. There's something we're both able to reach, and it's incredible how it goes in the same direction, without taking the same way, and without really planning it. All our insecurities are in this video, all our fears, all our joy and repressed dreams, how we struggle, the anxiety, all the hope, all our passion, IN HERE.

it might be more accurate to call these 'modernism,' but I didn't know about it then, and after all, something clicked for the first time when I heard about 'surrealism,' so I'm not going to let this go.

I got so attached to one of my own characters over the years, this connection has been getting stronger and stronger, and when I feel down, I always rely on this - fiction is incredibly important.

About the last words at the end, I just looked for some antonyms of a term that's been hurting me more than it should have in the first place. I thought it was pretty inspiring when it came to that video, and it also added some kind of a silver lining! Hell knows we need it these days.

When I first watched Star Wars, I was very young, and Carrie's role as Princess Leia was very important to me - to everyone.

So I've seen Rogue One, and so many people have been disappointed by this movie but hell - I LOVED IT. I was so into it. I was so moved and touched by it, and this is pretty much how the project was born. Rogue One gave me hope. With everything that's happening in the world today, terrorism, all this kind of things, Rogue One gave me hope. That's all I can say about this movie without spoiling anyone, or even just by summing up my reaction to the film. I loved it so freaking much. The message of this movie is so freaking important. I definitely recommand it.

I've watched Stranger Things maybe 3 weeks ago (or has it been a month already? I can't recall) and I've fallen in love with the show. It's PERFECT, I'm basically in love with all the characters and the cast's acting is so on point, if you need something to watch, that would probably be it!
These two, what to say what to do? I think I ship them - well, I know I ship them, but I'm not sure how I ship them. And once again I'm not making any sense. But like, I love Steve and his character development, and I like both Jonathan and Steve with Nancy, so yeah. Yeah. xD
I just think that they were adorable here and with that music, it was all so cute and I wanted to make something really soft and light, I guess I've succeeded because I'm quite proud of the outcome!

Alright, the script was FILLED with DRARRY MOMENTS and I AM SO OKAY WITH THAT. Not to mention scorbus, WHAT CAN I SAY, long live the Potter/Malfoy relationships okay that's all. (it is canon shhhhhh it is).

This drarry is the 3rd video of my HP project, a lot of you asked for this and I had already planned on making something with them because it's been too long since my last drarry video. I'm following the canon in this project though so that's what it's based upon - you have no idea how hard it was for me not to include some extra scenes which would definitely not be canon, I'm sERIOUS I'M STILL NOT OKAY WITH ALL tHE CC FEELS.
THESE TWO. IN THE CURSED CHILD. HELL. YES. Draco finally got his redemption -round of applause- and aH I'm just sorry for what happened with Astoria. And the rumours (lol btw I have a lot to say about this but I won't start in this video, PATIENCE IS THE KEY I need to be inspired enough to make the big one).
ANYWAYS, "for the first time they looked at each other as friends" :). :)))))). :)))))))))) iM FINE.
So that's how the video is born. How lonely Draco has always been and has always felt ever since Harry didn't shake his hand. How they're actually like two sides of the same coins - I just LOVED how in the Alternative Universe, Draco had Harry's job fheuzih - how Harry chose his fight while Draco had no choice at all. They both wanted to protect their loved ones and their family, and that's also accurate in the Cursed Child of course. I'm just feuzfhozhf. These two. that's all I have to say xD

Argh. I feel like I have tons of things to say - I do, but it would take ages to mention everything, so I guess I'm done with the video explanation.

I've been wanting to make a video about Harry and Dumbledore for years and ages, let's just say that inspiration stroke me and finally allowed me to make my move when I read the script for the second time with more perspective, but I reckon I would have done a video about them at some point without it. I've always found their relationship interesting in the books and it just fascinates me every time they interact with each other, or talk about the other.
(woah. I feel like I actually have a lot to say about all of this, get ready.)
First things first, when I first saw the movies/read the books, I hadn't realised how manipulative Dumbledore had been, and I loved his character a LOT. Then, us, potterheads that we are (right?) were left with nothing new when it comes to HP for YEARS, and we've all had time to think things through and notice more details about the Potter world, and I've seen Dumbledore under a new light. I still admire him -and MAN Fawkes knows how I would have died to know more about him and Grindelwald- but, I reckon I have mixed feelings about him, and contrary to Harry, it's become hard for me to forgive him.
Which leads us to Harry -ah, HARRY. Harry has always been the one to forgive people. I still find it hard to believe that he gets so much hate from the fandom sometimes, because HELL, Harry has such a good heart. But let's not take that road because I could actually write an essay about why Harry should be more appreciated, which is not the point.
My point is, Harry eventually forgave Dumbledore in the last book when he saw him again in 'King's Cross' ("he could not help himself. How could he remain angry with Dumbledore now?"). Because that's what Harry does, that's how Harry is, and may I say, that's also one of the reasons why he named his second son Albus Severus.
Now -last chance to leave before the (minor) spoilers arrive- the fact remains that Harry WAS angry at Dumbledore, and what I LOVED in the Cursed Child was the second scene he and Dumbledore shared in the script, where Harry basically put Dumbledore in his place for a second. Because seriously? HELL TO THE YES, HOW I LOVED THIS SCENE??!
I remember, when I was younger and loved Dumbledore a lot, I kept imagining a scene where Harry would talk to Dumbledore's portrait after the war -I wanted this to happen, and know it HAS, and I still LOVED IT even though I had had a different picture of this scene, growing older. This scene was absolutely perfect because after all these years, Harry finally said all that he wanted to say, and he deserved this, with everything he's been through (even in the Cused Child????! MY POOR CHILD)
And despite it all, what I love about Dumbledore and Harry, is that they still reach out to one another, even in this scene. Because there IS mutual trust, and I was just so emotional when I read this foiezhfozhefoizad im okay.
It's funny because I'd been talking about them to a friend of mine when we were watching the movies, I remember I'd said that there was something between them that was quite special, linked to love, and that's exactly what they said to each other in this scene and I AM FINE :)))))))

There are still many things that I have to say about the script in general, but I don't think this video is the right place to do it, and I'll wait some more time for more people to read it to post my opinions/eventually make a bigger video, if you would be okay with that ;)
Just going to leave this here though: I'll always defend Harry James Potter, fight me if you can.

I owe you both everything. Especially you, Harry. I literally laugh in the face of people who keep telling me that this is only fictional and that there's no way to fight in real life with this fictional world. Well, let me tell you something - the impact Harry Potter had -has- on me is real. The magic it brings is real as well. What I became with Harry Potter, it's freaking real.

IT'S BEEN SO LONG. SO LONG SINCE I HAVE FELT THAT WAY. THE EXCITMENT. THE EXCITMENT AT MIDNIGHT, WAITING TO READ THE NEW SCRIPT. This feeling, this incredible Potter feeling - I don't know how else to call it because this is the only thing that makes me feel that way.
I still don't know who I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to do, in my life and in life, but Harry Potter - this is how I get through. Harry has always been there for me. ALWAYS. He never left my side, not even once. And it will always be that way

I've read the script, and I'm honestly torn. I have two completely different opinions about it (there was never something in between when it comes to me eh? lol) anyways, I won't talk about this here even though I'm DYING to do so, but I won't spoil you guys and I'll wait a bit more :)
And also if I ever make a video about the Cursed Child, I'll let you know so you can watch out for the spoilers.

About the video itself, I made this right before I got to meet Emma aka TheLittlegranger ♥ IT WAS AWESOME and we had SO MUCH FUN and I LOVE HER.
She also really inspired me to make this in a way; because this video is about how Harry managed to fight his fear, to stand up against it in order to fight back -..........no spoiler but seriously I didn't do it on purpore, it fits with the script I WON'T SAY MORE.
ANYWAYS (how many times did I say anyways here) I just... I had a lot of things to say about this video, but words are leaving me because of all the emotion... I don't know if I like the final project, but man, Harry.... Harry is here with me.
Despite everything that's happening in the world with terrorism, hatred... Harry helps me to stand up and fight in my own way.
