Ray Harryhausen, the creator of Gwangi, stated that he envisioned Gwangi as the off spring of a T-rex and an Allosaur, describing him as an "Allo-rex." The design is based off of early T-rex paleoart, but with the size of an Allosaurus. As for the Meat-Eater and some of the other early ones, the knowledge of theropods was pretty lacking in the early 1900s, which is why T-rexes at that time were depicted with 3 fingers instead of 2, and the names were used kind of interchangeably. Namely seeing how they compare in wide shots to objects or persons that we know the height or size of. Hence why most of the estimates for the rexes that star in movies with people should be pretty accurate, for example the V-rex from King Kong (used Naomi Watts in a wide shot to size appropriately), Carnosaur (used the Bobcat he fights in the movie in a wide shot to compare), and most others from the silver screen. For things like Fantasia or Gwangi, I used their sizes in comparison to the height of other dinosaurs they share the scenes with to compare. The ones that were impossible to really size accurately however were the ones in Dinosaur documentaries, as there just isn't something concrete to size them up to. No people share the shot. So for these they're pretty much all sized up to 12m/40 ft in length, and then seeing what their height is at the hip. I think this works though as those docs tend to be going for scientific accuracy, and most rexes found are around that length ballpark. Also I use as much reference as possible when making the models, so that should minimize any sizing errors, at least any egregious ones, as they should be pretty accurate to their on screen counterparts. Its then funny to see when the source itself is completely wrong. For example the Clash of the Dinosaurs rex is labeled as 40ft in length, and 18 ft tall. But sizing my model to 40 ft long revealed that the height is much lower, at about 14ft or so tall. I've thought of adding like an official FIlmCore seal of approval for the "estimates" as I do actually go to some lengths to make sure its as accurate as possible. Thought of maybe like an "FC estimate" but it'll look weird if I can't explain it I think. I hope that makes sense, and that it's at least somewhat interesting. Its hard to explain without pictures the process I go through. I actually think its kind of interesting. Anyways, really hope you enjoyed! Become a member! GODZILLA (2014) VS KING KONG (2005) FilmCore 2015-12-20 | The long awaited match of the century is here! The King of the monsters VS the King himself! 3D Animation! This one took a pretty long time to animate as the physiology of both creatures is very different so it was very difficult to come up with what they could do. The Ending is left to the viewer as I didn't want to get a bunch of dislikes in my video over a winner, as well I'm not Death Battle so I don't have a video to justify the winner that wouldn't just feel like a rip-off. Overall however, I would have to say that personally, the winner would have to be Kong. As a giant gorilla who gets mutated he would have the brain advantage and would be able to use tools to defeat Godzilla. He's taken direct bites from V-rexs (evolved versions of T-rexs), whose bite force would probably be the strongest of all time, and is still able to go on. Godzilla does not have the same physiology as a T-rex and as such his bite force would not be as great. Also, with a relatively small head, its safe to say his brain size would be quite smaller. His main advantage would be his atomic ray, but still, Kong's fur would work as a sort of chainmail, taking the impact, and also Gorillas have very thick skin. With such massive arms and Gorillas being extremely strong, Kong would have the strength advantage. That's just the way I see it though! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Godzilla 2014 VS Godzilla 1998! Done entirely in CGI. The animation was done entirely in Blender 3D a couple months ago in a time span of a couple of weeks, I just never got around to rendering then as it takes a really long time! When I finally got around to it, in 720p, each frame took around 1.5 to 3 mins to render! The longest it went was 5 mins per frame! This was done just as more of an exercise, it was me having fun and animating something that a lot of fans probably wanted to see, including me! I actually do like Godzilla 1998, I find him to be a cool monster in his own right and I love the design, but we all know that 2014 Godzilla would win. The little teaser at the end was done very quickly, just wanting to get this video out. The video that will arrive of Kong VS Godzilla will hopefully be 100x better than the teaser. I'm currently writing the script and working on the characters and assets needed! It will be much longer than this one, and will be 10x better technically and storywise, hopefully.
