The recently installed bara sculpture overlooking Sydney Harbour, is one of the most interesting symbolic developments in the city in decades. Commissioned by City of Sydney, it represents the fish hook used by Gadigal Aboriginal women. It's a beautiful and overdue celebration of our First Peoples in one of the city's most iconic locations.
2023 is an exciting year for visitors to Sydney. The city is well and truly alive and buzzing. And there are big changes in the air too. I've always found travellers to be fascinated by the contemporary life of the places they visit. I've learned that lesson in Vietnam and Cambodia and elsewhere. It's no less true here in Sydney though the issues are different.
