From the 1932 pre-code film 'The Crooner,' here is the signature song from the movie, written by Cliff Friend and Irving Caesar.
David Manners stars as saxophonist turned vocalist, when a singer fails to show up to the session. Another bandmate hands him a megaphone, and he sings into the mic, only to become an overnight sensation. Sounds a lot like a particular 1930s musician and bandleader, doesn't it... complete with megaphone...
