The Superior Spring 50K trail race is an exciting challenge like no other. There is one thing that is guaranteed on the Superior Hiking Trail in the spring: MUD. This race was no exception. Mud, hills, lots of roots, rocks, and slippery board walks are what make this race fun and challenging. Most of the 31 miles is run on a technical single track trail. Race day started with a temperature of about 40 degrees and dropped during the race when strong winds picked up. Race organizers and volunteers were great.
