A hack colorizing the original Game Boy Super Mario Land 2 was just recently completed and released by toruzz right on Christmas Day, adding color to all aspects of the game, and even allowing you to play as Luigi whenever! Here's a preview of some gameplay, and more differences below.
Slowdown from the original monochrome GB version has been completely eliminated, hearts have been properly replaced with 1-Up Mushrooms as the game can now display green to differentiate them from the red Super Mushrooms, and Fire Mario and Luigi no longer need a feather on their head to show that they have fire power, along with a few more small changes.
You can find the patch for the hack here. Enjoy! Note: Some weird inaccuracy issues can result from not using an accurate emulator, such as BGB. I recommend using Gambatte, BGB, or mGBA to play this game, or you can play on real hardware using a flash cart.
