It's called that because it sounds like ass. This is my first song that I actually recorded and put on the Internet. A few days ago both the tune and most of the lyrics somehow came into my head, and I thought it would be fun to actually release it. It ended up sounding somewhat different than I imagined it, but I just can't be bothered to spend any more time on this joke song.

In this video Pinkie Pie sings a song about horses.
This was supposed to be 2012 Halloween special, but I kinda missed the deadline... Lets pretend its Valentines Day special instead. This explains why there is no season 3 footage by the way. I had this almost done for months, and it prevented me from starting another PMV project, so I just had to release it at some point and do something else.

This is my first attempt at a serious PMV. It is also, in a way, a statement, as I feel that lately PMVs are mostly a bunch of vectors jiggling across the screen accompanied by flashy effects. A Departure tries to tell a somewhat coherent story, and the editing is of the subtle kind. I also aimed for a specific dark and contemplative tone/mood, which is achieved by using up most of the night scenes in the show.

The song is Skate Park by Andrew Jackson Jihad. The original idea was to just make a PMV of Scootaloo being badass and stuff. However, I quickly discovered that theres not enough footage of Scootaloo on a scooter. Even after I severely abridged the already short song. So I decided screw it, its going to be sad instead. Rainbow Dash was conspicuously absent during the hospital scene, so the obvious thing was to show her napping instead, much to Scootaloos disappointment.
Just for the record, nobody dies in this video. Except for the birds, of course. The bastards had it coming after laughing at Scoots in Ponyville Confidential.")
