Today marks 5 years since Summer Wells went missing from her home in Hawkins County.

This is an excerpt from my interview with Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson.
He addressed the case, the search, and issues that he says hindered investigators.

“A lot of the fake stuff on social media, the psychics, the YouTubers,” said Sheriff Lawson. “They’ve hampered this case a lot. They spread a lot of false information. And that ties up manpower when you have to look into stuff like that.”

Summer Wells disappeared from her Hawkins County, Tennessee, home on June 15, 2021; the TBI and FBI continue an active investigation with no publicly named suspects, periodic searches, and ongoing appeals for tips.
