- I like to position at the first statue to telegraph so that I can watch more easily where its orb travels to for the first execution

- Some combinations make timing really tight/unfair to dodge

- For the rush-heave combo, run next to the bird so you can easily dodge the heave afterward

38:57 - *On the Hunt* (Lion Rampant)
- For proximity markers, two potential safe spots, check which spot has a tethered light orb to know that it is safe there

44:01 - *Scourge of the Mind* (Mysterious Mindflayer)
- From my experience there is always a safe spot in between the two center-ish vines facing toward the center
- For the mind blast, follow the debuff you have to watch where the adds will fly to so that you can walk to the opposite side of the arena

FFXIV: My First M8S Clear - Reaper POV

Nuolong 2025-05-04 | Finally cleared! Would have probably cleared a week earlier, but I got sick and didn't touch the game last week (didn't even do M5-M7 reclears). Joined an enrage party that turned into a C41 (with me as a secret 2nd lol). Phase 1 of this fight is soooo fun, Phase 2 is not as amazing but I still like it.

Also just realized my food ran out in P2 and I used my raid buff at the wrong time for one of the 2 min, I should have waited for the LP stacks so that I could reach everyone. I'm pretty sure I missed a couple of party members by popping it at the moment I did. But first clears must always be cursed in some way!!

FFXIV: My First M7S Clear - Reaper POV

Nuolong 2025-04-14 | I was stuck on enrage for a bit on this fight, of course the clear is cursed with my dumb ass eating 2 damage downs LOL! First damage down was just bad dodging, second damage down was because I dashed the wrong way and panicked while running into the safe spot :( Happy we cleared anyway though, the damage downs weren't too bad in the end. I like this fight because it's fast paced and doesn't feel too much like an MMO boss fight, but I do have to say the mechs this guy does have are pretty uninspired. That's probably what the designers were going for, I'd guess.

I was M2 and we were doing Toxic Friends strats for P1/P3 and Bili Bili seeds for P2 on NA.

FFXIV: My First M6S Clear - Reaper POV

Nuolong 2025-04-10 | Finally cleared this fight, I don't know how I feel about it, it's pretty fun if with a good team. It shouldn't have taken me so long to clear. My rotation and debuff uptime was so bad after adds. Also stinks that I didn't get healed and died to desert mousse - I could have second winded, but didn't think I'd have to. (The SCH was out-pure-healing the WHM 🗿)

Nuolong 2025-04-06 | First raid as a Reaper, was fun to start learning it. I have a lot to improve, but the 2 minutes were at kind of awkward times. Fun fight otherwise, it was so overwhelming but got better with reps. PF was kind of a nightmare, a lot of people joining clear parties when they are nowhere near ready. And for some reason I often got blamed for doing something wrong when I wasn't.

PF is kind of annoying with this fight too, every group is using slightly different strategies. In this video we primarily did Hector strats, with braindead for EF2. Overall, DPS in for every EF, relative B3, TN B4, tank lb3 B6.

FFXIV: My First FRU Clear - Viper POV

Nuolong 2025-03-06 | Progged in 16 days through PF. Approximately 723 pulls and 51.1 hours of total prog (may be a little more since I don't think I remembered to log my very first parties). I ended up getting a merc party since it was hard getting back to P5 in PF "clear" parties, and cleared in one shot! Happy I did that, it was worth it.

The party DPS was way higher than expected - my rotation was really off as a result. Combining that with P5 panic, I'm not proud of my personal DPS. But nothing that can't be improved in reclears!

This was my first time touching an ultimate, so my first ultimate clear! Really fun fight!

Nuolong 2025-02-04 | Progged in ~3 days, first clear for 6 out of 8 of us in the PF right before the weekly reset!

My rotation was clearly not optimal, I just wanted to do the mechs right since this is the most complicated fight I've done in FF14 so far, so working on improving my damage will be my next focus!

I enjoy VPR for these fights since it feels like it has a relatively much simpler rotation than other classes, so I can focus more brainpower on doing the mechanics.

Nuolong 2025-01-01 | Took like ~5 attempts after duo clear with friend. Progression was like floor 40s death, then 30s death, then 10s death, then 96 death (tragic) and then the clear. Picto's insane burst made this kinda cheesy and my bosses were kind of messy, but steel made them quite forgiving. Hope to try out HoH next!!

ESO: Unstoppable - 252,364 - Sorcerer Tank (Lucent Citadel Trifecta)

Nuolong 2024-10-27 | 27 days of prog for 12 new trifectas! My first time raid leading a trial and I didn't really like it - I had high expectations for the group that weren't necessarily met as fast as I had wanted it to, but I'm glad it's over with now. My biggest headaches were front-loaded when thinking of how we were going to even do the trial since it was new and everyone was doing something different. Overall we just wanted the trifecta, so we played safe with tons of shields and didn't care at all about score. Someone also PTE'd with the current after I specifically said we won't be doing that, but it didn't affect my role, so still enjoy the POV!

Lucent Citadel is an interesting trial but I think it's only really fun to tank since you have the power to handle things how you want to. I have a lot of reps on DPS and found it incredibly boring!

The mount has a special summon animation if you have the Molag Bal Illusion polymorph equipped, which is an Apex reward from the same crate. Imo this stinks - the shackle summon animation looks really cool, but I'm not sure who wants to run around as Molag Bal just to make that appear.

After getting our first PB and doing the RP achievements, our permanent healer b.green logged on and we had 40 minutes left of our time for the day to try to get it again. We also got our good friend Sybad who's filled for us several times throughout the prog's roster progging. After playing the trial more conservatively and making this our last pull, we actually got it again. Slightly lower score, but crazy that we got it again, and that b.green and Sybad were here to get the achievement this time!

31 days of progression in Bait Central. Way too long, and we were pretty much at a point of being at each other's throats. This was maybe the last day we were going to run, having maybe 3-4 people leaving the group after today. But the stars aligned and we finally got it! This was a huge test in patience and forgiveness for me personally. There were points where I was sick of this place and the group I was running with, but by tail-end of the days we ran, I learned to chill out and treat ESO as what it always was - a game.

But we got 12 new PBs! We also ran it back 30 minutes later for the healer who missed the first hour and a good neighborhood friend in Bait Central. Will maybe post that video later.
