Minutes later, while Martinovich was thanking her friends and family for their support, Murdoch realized her mistake. Murdoch was visibly upset when she realized her mistake and made an awkward apology before naming 18-year-old Amanda Ware as the winner. Murdoch said the mistake happened because the wrong name was fed to her earpiece. Martinovich was very gracious about the situation; she hugged Ware and dismissed Murdoch's apologies.
