In this episode of "Black History is St. Louis History," Julia Clark, of the @MOHistoricalSociety, joins Carol Daniel to explore how the first public study of Black lesbianism in the United States came from Washington University student Ethel Sawyer. Though not a lesbian herself, Sawyer was fascinated by the lesbian community she encountered at the Pruitt-Igoe apartments.
