For my final feature, it is my pleasure to present Sternenwarte’s Das Schlafende Gestirn. An album of dark dungeon noise from German artist Hagiophobic, released through the Cirsium Kollektivet.
This version is a tape rip, recorded directly from the casette. The digital version is available on bandcamp, with the slightly different sound that entails.
Harkening to ancient, crumbling sounds of the old ways, the album is a confrontational pall of rotted murk, gnawing through your speakers like a dismal sleet. There is a tranquillity to be found in its depths, to the accustomed ear. The dour ambience parting for fleeting moments of warbling melodies and the eerie silhouetted passage of celestial bodies, snatched by decaying ear on corrupted winds, seeping through tape hiss and the chants of robed shadows.
A cassette is released in an edition of 36 copies along with digital copies available now from the Cirsium Kollektivet Bandcamp and Telegram channel
