What happens when Grand Admiral Thrawn finally returns to threaten the galaxy—and Anakin Skywalker returns to challenge Ahsoka with the biggest question of her entire journey: is she actually a Jedi?
The first Ahsoka Season 2 teaser trailer is finally here from D23, and this looks MASSIVE.
In my Ahsoka Season 2 trailer reaction, I’m diving into our first real look at the next chapter of Ahsoka Tano's story, including Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn preparing his next move, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Baylan Skoll, and the deeper mysteries surrounding Ahsoka herself.
And there is one element that immediately has me emotional:
ANAKIN AND AHSOKA.
Hayden Christensen is officially back as Anakin, and the teaser shows him training young Ahsoka while also communicating with Rosario Dawson's adult Ahsoka.
But what really grabs me is WHY Anakin is here.
He is challenging Ahsoka to finally answer a question that has followed her for YEARS:
Is she a Jedi or not?
That feels like the perfect next step for her character.
Ahsoka walked away from the Jedi Order.
She survived Order 66.
She watched Anakin become Darth Vader.
And she has spent years carrying everything that happened to her master, her friends, and the Jedi.
Now Anakin himself could be the one pushing her to finally decide who Ahsoka Tano truly is.
But while all of that is happening…
THRAWN IS BACK.
Season 1 spent so much time building toward Grand Admiral Thrawn's return to the main galaxy, and now we're finally getting the consequences. Lucasfilm says the threat of Thrawn will loom large over Ahsoka, her crew, and the galaxy, with Rosario Dawson teasing that Season 2 has bigger battles and higher stakes.
YES PLEASE.
I want Thrawn to feel dangerous.
I want the Imperial remnant rallying around him.
I want the New Republic to realize how badly they underestimated what was coming.
And I want Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, and Hera thrown right into the middle of it.
Then we have Baylan Skoll.
The late Ray Stevenson created one of the most fascinating new Star Wars characters in years, and Rory McCann is continuing Baylan's journey in Season 2. The first footage shows McCann as Baylan while the mystery surrounding his search for a greater power continues.
And with all the imagery surrounding the Mortis gods, I NEED answers.
What was calling to Baylan?
How does it connect to Ahsoka?
What does Anakin know?
And are we about to dive even deeper into the mystical side of the Force?
