[Synopsis]
Carter (Thomas Jane) is a troubled and grieving military veteran living a solitary life in an isolated farmhouse, deeply haunted by the tragic mistakes of his past. His quiet life is violently shattered when a terrified 12-year-old girl runs onto his property. She has just witnessed a brutal contract killing at a cemetery and captured the face of the ruthless hitman on her camera.
The cold-blooded assassin (Laurence Fishburne) tracks her down to Carter's house, intent on erasing the only witness to his crime. Forcing his way inside, a fierce gunfight leaves the hitman downstairs and Carter holding the top of the stairs, protecting the young girl. Armed with only a shotgun and a single remaining shell, Carter must engage in a deadly physical and psychological standoff.
