Round 1 involves the first set of double, double increases (two stitches are added to each layer). A knit-yarnover-knit is worked into the Near layer, and a purl-yarnover-purl into the Far layer. These increases result in 3 stitches side by side on each layer. On Rnd 2, these clumps have to be re-sequenced and then another double increase worked into the central increase on each layer.
This is a bit fiddly. I have experimented with other types of increase but this one remains the best IMHO.
