I totally loved this mep and the underused characters party used in it! Anyway, I watched ballerina and really regreted that I didnt go watch it in theaters when I had the chance to.

(I think this is my first voltron edit and Im....... mindblown about that)
But seriously, the one good thing this season? Pidge and Allura. I didnt realize, but did they ever get to bond again after that Talk about Pidge leaving in S1? Because I cant remember, and I couldnt find anything while editing this. Which is... kinda sad! Theyre the main female leads, and even Allura and altean-blonde-girl have interacted more...
Also Im sorry if any hearts shattered at the end but muahahaha. I wasnt really that sad when Allura was getting ready to sacrifice herself, but as soon as Pidge cried, I did too. It was like flipping a switch haha... you cant just have them bond and then do THAT to me.
Anyway, I had my shipping glasses on hard this season again. And idk, I feel like Pidge giving up the video game for Allura, kind of seems like accepting that her crush on lance (psa: yes I think she has one) is one-sided and letting go of that, so that Lance and Allura can be happy together.
Its surprisingly hard to find a song about a love triangle where the two females befriend each other and shortly after one of them sacrifices herself to save all realities.... I dont understand why thats so hard to find though ;)
Anyway, if you think s8 was bad, then maybe read into the FREEVLDS8-tag. Theres also a (how could it be different) change.org petition. My whole stance in this is kind of pffft hahaha as if anything would happen, this conspiracy is ridiculous and yes plz I want lotor treated better THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
its not about ships, I was fine with Allurance, they had some cute moments. Its just oof... something seems awfully wrong with this season and I want to know what and why.

HOW DO YOU TITLE PMVS???
h-hi subscribers, this is not a typical AMV because the drawings you see, are in fact, by yours truly. Me.
Well, mostly referenced from the original Utena OP, which you should watch before you think Im any good at animating haha.
This video also has subtitles because I re-rendered like 5 times bc of small mistakes and I needed something to do.
Ive worked on this on-and-off for about 4 months. And Im so glad its done holy shit.
So as for the backstory of this: I watched Tutu and Utena somewhat side by side. Somewhere along the way I was like hah. (yes Im Fakir/Mytho trash in case that wasnt already obvious - not necessarily romantic but I like their dynamic and I want moreeee)
I felt like Id have sooo much to say about this, but in fact, Im pretty empty.
I actually started working on this AU before I finished Tutu, so the costumes (esp. Mytho) arent really based on their final costumes or anything, its just based on the ballet outfits they wear in the OP. I am very upset about not giving Mytho a crown, but I do like floofy hair and floofy hair with crown is awkward.
So. AU ramblings:
In case you dont know Utena: Its about this girl, the rose bride, who basically gets handed around this fight club of duelists that duel each other for her hand because she has the key to eternity or some shit. Utena, the MC, basically says Fuck That and duels for her and then tries to become friends with her, yada yada.
More (Utena spoilers I guess):
- Fakir is basically Saionji (the duelist that Anthy, the rose bride, belongs to in the beginning and oh boy does he not treat her well) but with a bit of Utena sprinkled in. Ahiru notices that Fakir treats Mytho badly, tells him to cut that shit out and then Mytho becomes Ahirus bride
- Fakir changes and eventually probably gets him back or maybe its just wholesome ot4 dynamic i dont know.
- Either way, Mytho is both Anthy and the Prince here which is. very weird but I think with his whole self-sacrificial stick that actually works really well too. Hes not the prince anymore, hes just a husk.
- Obviously the whole Anthys brother segment doesnt happen, but his role as end of the world (basically the puppet master behind everything) is pretty safely taken up by Drosselmeyer anyway. Not sure how far Id include the whole writing aspect but you could PROBABLY do that somehow.
- Aight so can we talk about Mytho stabbing Fakir.
- Or like. Fakir, after the final showdown lying on the collapsed ground being like I couldnt be the knight you needed bc hohhh boyyy the angstttt-
- Also one of my friends was like Imagine Utena duels but they make the raven poses and thats so insanely funny I cannot.
Also Rue saying the only time I ever was happy was when I was with you is basically 1:1 what Utena says and Im not over that. This AU is a mess as you can see but. OH WELL.
