An unedited drive out of Bristol, UK testing the GoPro Hero 9 Black mounted to the roof of my car together with in-car footage using my older Hero 3+.

This video is not exciting or even very challenging for a GoPro. I suppose these things are designed to smooth out a mountain bike ride, so throwing it on top of a car isn't going to do much! This isn't exactly extreme sports! However, I am testing it because this is one way that I would personally use the camera.

I hope it's useful for someone else, too, if you're interested in knowing how well the stabilisation performs when mounted to the roof of a car with fairly hard suspension and run-flat tyres. Trust me, it's not the smoothest ride!

Alternatively, if you just like watching us drive on the left here in the UK or looking at the UK scenery, maybe this could be interesting.

It's interesting to see the stabilisation working, particularly when turning around sharp bends and over speed bumps. It does a tremendous job and manages to retain a natural look most of the time. 4K only requires just over 8MP on the sensor, so, with nearly 24MP on the GoPro 9, the stabilisation has a huge amount of spare pixels to play around with.
