Join Ah Young Hong and Smithsonian Chamber Music Society artistic director Kenneth Slowik for an exclusive performance of Franz Schubert's Die Forelle ("The Trout") recorded at our museum's Hall of Music.
Ah Young Hong has been described as “a soprano of fearlessness and consummate artistry” (Opera News), “absolutely riveting: (The Chicago Tribune), and “a fearless presence, wielding her unamplified, bell-like voice like a weaponized instrument” (The Chicago Classical Review). She has interpreted a vast array of repertoire, ranging from the music of Monteverdi, Bach, Mozart, and Poulenc, to works of Shostakovich, Babbitt, Haas, and Kurtág. Ms. Hong is joined here by fortepianist Kenneth Slowik.
