Alright, the final millionaire stage. As the fireworms respawn, and can be taken out repeatedly without jumping off the ground, a massive combo can be obtained.

Keeping the combo here is actually a lot harder than it might seem. More accurately, doing this fast to get an many of the fireworms as possible is quite difficult. The previous strat everyone else had used would wait for the fireworm to come back while charging a spindash (like you'll see on the very last one I kill), so that you wouldn't miss it. But my method charges through it with a spindash, meaning you have to time the release just right, but you can get far more this way as you're able to load a new fireworm while waiting for the current one to get in position to be hittable. The rhythm actually took me a bit of time to get down, but once learnt it's just a whole lot of repetition.

Then comes the ending. Obviously to maximise the score, you want to spend as much time on the combo as possible, meaning the end of the run is effectively a speedrun. And this is not an easy stage to do fast. After the combo I have to do a quick object phase - and then comes a really tricky level wrap. I decided to do a safer strat after the wrap, you can end up straight at the boss but you'll be behind the 'lava' screen layer and effectively be invisible. To avoid this, I backtrack to before the boss arena, sacrificing a little bit of time, so Knuckles is visible, to make the quick strat more feasible.

Given the time I got, I actually probably had time to get another enemy into the combo. However, I am never doing this again.

This beats the previous record of 730,900 by 1,004,500 points!

Note: For score attacks, you are only allowed 100 points from hitting the signpost, but are allowed to hit it as many times as required for the boxes. Because I hit it 2 times, I subtract 100 points from my score to get the actual total.
