....IT'S DONE! It took me over three weeks to complete this monstrosity, so hopefully it was worth it lol. I decided to do my first ever medley-style cover as a little 200 Subscriber special, and to just do something new! The arrangement style wasn't the only thing new about this video though, as I ended up getting a green screen and filmed/edited the video in a whole new way!
I decided to go with the lesser known, 8-Bit version of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, released for the Game Gear and Master System, as it has a more obscure soundtrack that is largely different from the more well-known version of the game. Whether it's better than the Genesis version, hard to say for me, but it's pretty close aside from being lower audio quality. I also shot myself with the foot with this one as it ended up being the hardest video so far performance-wise... and this was right after Fight with Seymour which was the hardest so far as well!
This was the most amount of time spent on a project so far. 75 hours!! The next longest one was my very first video game cover, mostly due to it being a new and unfamiliar process for me. The same kind of thing happened for this one, with trying to arrange a medley of multiple songs, and filming/editing a different style of video. Not to mention it's 10 minutes long lol.

Its finally here!! I started this cover over two months ago, but a ton of hiccups happened with trying to record my friend Katelyns vocals, and so it kept getting delayed, but Im so happy that its finally done. Extra special thanks to Katelyn for providing vocals for this arrangement!
This song was the first song that I fell in love with from the entire game, and I wanted to cover it since I first played it last year, but wasnt really sure how. Eventually I thought that maybe it would sound cool with some operatic vocals singing harmonies and the main melody, so I asked my friend Kate (who is a classically trained vocalist) if she would want to help out, and Im glad I did, because it turned out even better than I imagined! Other than the vocals, I didnt mess with the songs arrangement as much as I normally do; I mostly just extended a couple sections here and there and went through the song twice. Since its such a perfect song, I didnt want to do too much to it, other than playing it on guitar/bass and making the last section really heavy and powerful sounding, in the vein of a prog metal ballad kind of sound.
For the future, I may be only to do two covers a month at most, depending on how I feel, as I am getting a job and it may eat away at my time a bit. But, I dont run on a schedule anyway so it just depends whether I have the time and energy to work on these covers. I can definitely say theres at least one more coming this month, and possibly another!
BTW, I did notice the weird video cut off at the end screen, unfortunately I didnt notice until after uploading, but its such a minor thing overall that I didnt bother fixing it and re-uploading it because I already had to re-export the video once.

For me, I decided to do something a little different and try slowing the song down significantly just to see how it would sound. I knew it would inevitably make the song a lot easier to play for the most part, but I thought it was worth it because I feel like I came up with something pretty unique, and not like anything Ive down before. It also enabled me to play even more keyboard lead parts, since Im nowhere near as good at that compared to guitar haha. I more or less kept the original structure of the song intact, but with an extra repeat of the final section that I altered into something a bit evil sounding lol. Hope you enjoy my wacky nonsense on this one.
