The Orbynexa Portable Power Mount combines a powered Starlink Mini stand, integrated battery and dedicated 30V DC output in one compact field-deployable system. In this companion video, I demonstrate how the mount can be recharged from a portable solar panel for extended off-grid operation.
The Orbynexa mount reduces the number of separate components required to deploy Starlink Mini. The integrated tripod supports the terminal, the internal battery provides portable power, and the dedicated DC output powers Starlink Mini without an inverter or AC power supply.
To demonstrate its off-grid capability, I connect a solar panel to the mount’s USB-C charging input through a compatible 12–24V DC USB-C Power Delivery adapter.
The complete system is:
Solar panel → USB-C PD adapter → Orbynexa Portable Power Mount
Orbynexa 30V DC output → Starlink Mini
USB-C PD is used only to charge the battery inside the Orbynexa mount. Starlink Mini receives power through the mount’s dedicated 30V DC output.
This arrangement eliminates the need for a separate power station, inverter or AC charging brick. With a lightweight PowerFilm solar panel, the Orbynexa mount becomes the center of a compact Starlink Mini system suitable for emergency communications, camping, hiking, bicycle or ATV deployments, and portable off-grid internet.
Because it was raining during filming, I demonstrate the charging connection using an 80-watt solar array on my tower. The same method applies to a compatible portable solar panel with an output voltage supported by the USB-C PD adapter.
Important: Confirm that the solar panel voltage, USB-C PD adapter, cable and charging output are compatible with the Orbynexa mount before connecting the system.
