In preparation for Metal Gear Solid Delta, I decided to finally give the original MGS game a try. I've played lots of Metal Gear across 2, 3, 4, and Rising, but I've always avoided the original. Heck, when it comes to Kojima, I even managed to brave both Death Stranding 1 and 2 this year. In many ways, this is the lone blind spot! Well, after playing it, this is probably the best example of why Kojima gets all the hype he does. Between the writing, weirdness, boss fights, music, and atmosphere, Metal Gear Solid 1 is an experience like no other.
