The hubbub and bustle of the markets can be overwhelming, but there's a method to the madness that is truly fascinating to watch. Deals and exchanges made within the blink of an eye, hagglers who know just when to quit - it can be intimidating, but the stallkeepers appreciate new blood.

Oh, no, sorry. I'm reading off of my Summer Games Fest bingo sheet. There was a big trend of farming sims for a good while there, but I think the hip new thing is games where you run coffee shops.

In any case, this mix is perfect for chasing those cottagecore vibes, chasing those darn fox varmints away from your cottagecore vibes, growing any crops you want (even cauliflower if you like to grow things that are disgusting), milking cows, and sowing seeds (be they vegetables or chaos).

ErinDromeda 2024-05-01 | They say a stitch in time saves nine. Which basically means "if you don't sort this mess out now, it will be a bigger mess later". Apparently, some people can say that and magically are unable to procrastinate anymore. I'll never understand that. I am hand-crafted to procrastinate. All the finest existential artisans got together around the cosmic pottery wheel and tried to create a work of art that best countered that saying, and my brain was the end result.

I, personally, always lacked the hand-eye coordination for sewing, despite the odd primary school lesson where they tried to teach us. I've always been a better typer, better with a controller in my hand. But, for those of us who love to knit and sew, and who make our own outfits to cosplay in (very very cool), you could say this mix is... "tailor-made"... for you!

ErinDromeda 2024-04-12 | Imagine you’re in a hedge maze at the rear of a Princess’ palace, because Princess types often own entire hedge mazes. Now imagine, in the middle of that hedge maze there was a strange tree stump, with toadstools growing out of one side of it. Your natural instinct might be to place yourself atop the stump, maybe stood at an increased height to celebrate your victory and superiority over the maze, maybe perched in seat upon it to rest your aching legs and have a spot of lunch…

Now imagine, when you step off the stump, and make your way back out of the maze, you are no longer in the Princess’ garden, but a strange, twinkling forest, with mushrooms big enough to bounce off, fireflies lazily but purposefully drifting from stump to stump, various trees linked together by fairy lights, and then you see it… a clearing in the trees, full of unicorns.

They’re unpredictable, unicorns. Maybe they’ll let you come and stroke their mane. Maybe they’ll even trust you enough to ride them. Or, maybe they’ll kick you in the head or bite the sleeves of your jacket. Who can say? But really, seeing a unicorn is a special enough occasion, so maybe you shouldn’t test your luck beyond that in the first place?

ErinDromeda 2024-03-13 | It's the final round of the most thrilling scrabble championship that human culture has ever known. You're sat across from the reigning champion Stuart "The Stabber" Stanleyson, who has been the victor for 4 years running because all of his prior opponents come down with an unfortunate case of Being Stabbed By A Pencil at the crucial final moment. You see before you the perfect triple word opportunity, and you've got a lot of "Z" tiles to use... this is it... time to think.

One of my favourite categories of VGM is "thinking" music, specifically the style of music that might play whilst you're doing crosswords, sudoku, picross, that sort of thing. I've already made two previous compilations covering this vibe before, and whilst the requirements for song entry have gotten a little looser over the years, I think this mix still fits in quite well amongst the others.

I also just wanted an excuse to raise awareness of the game In Stars & Time. If you listen to one game recommendation today, let it be this one.

ErinDromeda 2024-03-03 | I wanted to create a mix that *sounds like* the emotions I felt when I was trying on clothes I had secretly ordered at night. The times I would play around on picrew and realise that putting my little character in a skirt made everything feel exciting and good, or the times I'd do my hair a certain way and take a picture and *finally* see myself.

The feelings of apprehension of trying something new, the euphoria of having a taste of the life I had been missing, the fear of what this would mean going forwards, the anger at the time I had lost without this, the determination to press on regardless and make the best of whatever is left.

Every year I have a personal tradition to go and visit the Christmas markets in my city, and I've always wanted to make a mix that captures the exciting, magical but cosy feeling of being there, a hot chocolate in hand, a hustle and bustle that I somehow don't find anxiety inducing, festive lights giving off a golden glow as the blue hue of a recently risen moon sinks over the streets.

This year I was very lucky to visit the markets with someone special, and it even snowed a bit too! So I was more determined than ever to try and distill that special experience down into a compilation of several video game songs. Mayhaps this mix can warm you up like a lovely blanket!

Video Game Music To Fight A Level 3 Minion To (Skrunklycore Battle Music) (Silly to Epic)

ErinDromeda 2023-12-07 | Everyone always thinks of the big scary boss. The final phase. The one who you have to defeat to save the whole entire world. And to get to that final foe, we trounce and skip past the glue that holds their entire plan together without a second thought. Because as fantastical as that final boss might be, they'd have been defeated long ago if not for their minions.

The gremlins. The level 3 gremlins who drop two wood and occasionally a pre-crafted wooden sword if your RNG is good. The ones who hop around. The absolute skrunkly failminions. The ones who giggle like "hoohoohee". Those ones. Sure, they're easy to overpower, but they're designed to make your life more difficult, to wear you down so that the big boss can finish you off.

That's odd. There's another level 3 minion there. But that level 3 minion seems to have a fully operational handgun. But it's just a little gremlin, there's no way it could know how that works.

Oh no. The gremlin is loading the firearm. This might be tougher than you thought...

ErinDromeda 2023-11-15 | Once upon a time in the far-distant realm of 2023, the Nintendo E-Shop closed its digital doors, and many a product would become locked behind its shutters for eternity. One of those products was a little Gamefreak creation called Pocket Card Jockey. But when I found out that the protagonists in this game were basically head-empty legends, I knew that one would have to feature if I were ever to do a horse mix. And, well, it looks like one chewed through the drywall to make its way onto my channel.

So here are 22 high-energy jams that might play over the course of a horse racing event on a cloudy April day in the year of, like, 2006 or something. The vibes I attempt to emulate when making these mixes are often microscopically specific. But they can be enjoyed for whatever reason you wish! ErinDromeda 2023-11-09 | A long time ago, I was issued a challenge. Well, actually, it was a very polite and considered suggestion from a friend that I could maybe attempt to do a compilation themed after all four seasons because that would be an interesting idea.

It is indeed a very interesting idea, however I decided that I would absolutely take this on as an ultimate challenge, one which I would definitely, absolutely do. And now, only ten months later, I have finally finished it. Because Erin D. Romeda might not finish the race first, but she sure as heck might do at some point.

So here is a fun little project where I try to encapsulate every season into one compilation, for a variety of vibes! This isn't my cleanest mix ever, but I'm pretty proud of it nontheless! And maybe it could be a representation of the effect that climate change is having on our years, blurring every month into one, slightly warm haze as our Autumns, Winters and Springs become naught but meek footnotes before the Eternal Summer. Video Game Music To Brew A Potion To (Witch Music) (BONUS MIX)

ErinDromeda 2023-10-19 | I always do some kind of mix for Halloween, some kind of spooky and/or scary theme for the terrifying tenth month. Last year it was skeletons. The year before that it was depression! This spooky season however, I've been feeling the vibes of witches (and depression, but I digress)

I try not to glamourise witches too much. Because whilst I absolutely adore the vibes of witches, I understand that some people very genuinely believe in and practice witchcraft, and I don't wanna come rolling on in on that *too* much. But witches ARE very awesome and honestly, the stereotypical depiction of a lady who excuses herself from society, has a body that creaks like a petrified tree, and turns men into frogs is very much a vibe I can get behind.

So, for this year's Spooky JAMboree, I decided to make a mix dedicated to witches, potion brewing, sitting at cauldrons, talking to crows and wearing dark, ratty clothes. This mix is also dedicated to Vivian. I know she doesn't really do too much witchcraft but I don't care. Vivian deserves it.

As civilisation's path has reached its end, everyone who remains begins to try and rebuild. They split off into factions, they raid, they scavenge, they try to piece it all back together. People start wearing skulls and referring to themselves in the first person because it sounds more intimidating. I begin to root through pharmacies for as much estrogen as possible. And I follow disused railroads, hoping to find those for whom I yearn now that phone lines are down.

I like to think that if I were a post-apocalyptic survivor, I'd don a maid dress and big black boots, and I'd roam around a city, selling information. The Wordmaiden, they'd call me. I have, for a long time, had a few people ask me when I would finally make a fishing mix. It's been well over a year of "why don't you make a fishing mix about the one fishing hat meme", and yes, I heard you, trust me. It's been on my mind for a while. But not making that mix for a while has served to benefit me because it was only this year that I found out about the absolutely beautiful character that is Seteth.

This guy embodies the boomer but in a wholesome way. He just wants to understand. He's doing his best. And though the fierce rapids of teenage emotions are too turbulent for him to understand, he's always there to offer a helping hand when someone seeks advice in more serene waters.

Of course, we have a few fascinating descendants in this day and age, but I think you know what I mean. And honestly, that's probably for the best, dinosaurs, we can assume, would mess us up. Sure it's looking increasingly likely they had feathers and waddled around like chickens and probably looked a bit silly, but their capacity to absolutely put a downer on your whole day is no less in doubt.

Time for a history lesson - once upon a time, when people loved eachother, they had to do really frustrating things like "live near the other person" and "get married". Nowadays, most people just meet their partners online and get married in the Discord server where they met or something, but in the olden days, some people decided to get married in a place called a "church".

To assume that everyone gets married in a church is, of course, rather foolish. Come on, Janice, other religions exist, and some people also just don't want to.

I for one would be completely unable to enter a church, because every time I do, my skin begins to burn and it gets really difficult to hide my pointed tail. However, it turns out that video game music themed after the divine does not cause me to sprout wings and play dungeons and dragons, so I was safe to make this mix.

You'll draw a nice background, you'll draw a funny comic strip, you'll draw a character's hands, you'll draw their hands again, you'll draw their hands again, you'll give up and make the hands circles without fingers, and then you'll move your lineart and the background will move with it, and so will your stomach as you realise you've absolutely doomed yourself.

This is, of course, a curse limited to digital art - physical art is still alive and well and sometimes I find myself enjoying that more. But I *do* also occasionally find myself reaching for an undo shortcut that my drawing pad sadly hasn't had installed into it.

In my last space-themed compilation, I focused on spacefaring heroic music. Some aspects of that have carried over here, but in THIS compilation, I thought I'd add a touch of "rapidly approaching planet" to the vibes.

This is the music that plays as your rocket splutters, as you breach the atmosphere and the body begins to peel from your spaceship, as you accidentally slingshot yourself into a star. ErinDromeda 2023-02-20 | On February 20th 2021, I uploaded a compilation of cooking themed songs from Video Games after someone in a Discord server was sad that they couldn’t find any.

Video Game Music That Plays When Your Train Isnt Slowing Down (Peaceful to Intense Train Music)

Looking out of a fast-moving train window is one of those rare experiences that is both soothingly peaceful and edge-of-your-seat exciting. Seeing the countryside whiz by, feeling the carriage rise and fall, and that distinctive "chugga-chugga" sound - a nice train ride is possibly my favourite way to travel! They're also a very popular location for fight scenes in movies...

Of course, here in the UK we still have trains made out of 40-year-old buses that sound like they're being torn to pieces whenever they accelerate. So maybe you can use this mix to drown out the less enjoyable journeys too!

Not all of these songs are specifically train related, I picked out quite a few with a certain beat that sounds like it would fit in with the "chugga-chugga" sound. Sometimes you've gotta think outside the box(car).

A choking fog encroaches, snatching away from your brain the treat of comprehending any sense of scale in this strange place. A flat path, stretching forwards and backwards, no indication that the path has ever been any different, or will ever change again. A place that makes you feel like you're not where you need to be just yet, but that you could find yourself there forever.

There are many places like this in our world - empty car parks, disused shopping centres, your old high-school after closing hours, that one alleyway bathed in a strange golden or blue light. Places where the air feels heavier on entry, almost as though you're walking through a door you never saw to get there.
