World record when set, beating Preston's record of 20. This was performed on version 1.5.0 via Everdrive 64 on console.
I spent some time looking into some strategies for this and found a few flow chart methods that work really well. From the ledge, most characters won't hit you and you can safely roll in most of the time. From here, you can grab the opposite ledge or use Down B. Rolling in can cause a few characters to fall off if they use an aerial, while Down B is a good disruptor and does some damage. Down B can also KO Kirby and Jigglypuff.
If you isolate an opponent, you can do a fairly safe BThrow if you're snappy with it. Fair from the ledge into regrab can stage spike DK, and Up B can act as another disruptor. Finally, ledge attack can clip a few characters for easy KOs if you get a reverse hit, but it's quite difficult to do safely.
This was a pretty good attempt overall and I'm happy with the result!

Zubat is one of the most technical and complex Pokemon in the game, and this setup is an attempt to make it somewhat easier. Note that the because of the high precision with everything, random lag, and the fast animation speed of Zubat, this is still by no means consistent at all. Any attempts to get a good score will require a lot of shots and any mistimings will desync the setup.
Instructions:
1) Skip the cutscene, hold Z, look all the way down, turn a bit left (use the cave wall as a visual cue) and take a picture of both Zubat.
2) Press C-up, release Z, press C-up again.
3) Once the middle of the cursor goes below the Bulbasaur ledge, hold R.
4) When the wall appears between the opening and the green film icon, release R.
5) When the floor crack in the middle is about to reach the bottom of the screen, quickly press C-right, C-left, and then C-right again.
6) Wait a moment and then press C-left and C-right 9 times each.
7) Look all the way up, and when the left of the cursor goes over the dark line in the wall, press C-left.
8) When the blue apple icon passes the ledge, press B.
9) Hold Z, aim a tiny bit up, a little left, and make the shot.
Some troubleshooting:
-If youre missing the first two Zubat, trying aiming for their heads to have a larger frame window.
-If the middle Zubat is too far ahead, you likely started turning too late or too slow.
-If the two side Zubat are too spread out, you likely started turning too early.
-If the Zubats have their wings fully spread out, you were likely on the wrong set of frames. As animations are based on 60 frames per second, but the game only renders 30 frames a second, half the time you cannot get the correct frame for the shot.")

While this game may seem impossible to complete at higher speeds, its just barely doable, but extremely difficult even as a TAS, and certainly not at all consistent for real play.
The main obstacle is the ship can move faster than you can, its easy to get cornered, and the bullet speeds get as fast as reaching you in 3 frames. The only way to avoid shots is to move in such a way that the ship aims at the edge of your hitbox as you move in the opposite direction.
Interestingly, depending on the spacing of the bullets, its possible for them to go too fast and phase right through you, as one frame its below you and the next frame its above you, never making contact.")

With RNG manipulation, its possible to get double Magikarps for every attempt. This is the hard version because it gets a regular Magikarp spawn, meaning you must take a picture of the other Magikarp, but the possible points are much higher. This TAS also scores +70 over the current world record.
Instructions:
1) Reset the console, select Valley, and watch the cutscene.
2) When the cursor passes Mankey, aim vertically only and throw a pester ball to hit the Magikarp. Then aim down and press C-up to reset your aim. You cant look up too high, and you must C-up quickly before the pester ball lands or you wont get the correct RNG.
3) When the cursor passes the black rock, press C-left, then when it passes the next black rock, press C-right. Your height may vary slightly, but thats fine, and the turns dont need to be precisely timed.
4) A bit before the last corner, throw a pester ball, and a Magikarp will spawn. Note that this TAS does it nearly as early as possible, so you may want to wait a touch longer.
After this, youll still need to throw a pester ball at the other Magikarp and make the shot!")
