In a world where cloning goombas simply isn't fast enough, sonicpacker sets out to collect Chain Chomp's star without pressing "A" in this brand new TAS WR.
But really, check this out!! You may remember my old run (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5TZsjzDzk8) that uses an outdated but really cool method to obtain this same star. However, I was interested in optimizing the fastest strategy and managed to beat the previous record by over 7 seconds! I optimized it to the point of saving a full lap around the course, which was very tough, but well worth the result. A total of about 10k rerecords.

As promised, heres a video showing off the L Cancel trick/exploit.
Kaze programmed a tech in this hack that uses the L button, named L-Cancelling. Yes, like Smash Bros...First Ill say it works by boosting your speed if you press L after landing from a jump. Secondly, Kaze jokingly proposed an idea to test with said tech which shortly turned into the new BLJ of this hack. ie, a glitch where you move quite fast. So special thanks to Kaze for breaking his own hack! XD
The first clip is a little skip I thought of while making my L-less TAS, but couldnt get to work. This trick made it quite a bit easier lol. No need to press the blue switch to activate the boxes!
The exploit clip is self explanatory: you fall off and on a ledge over and over and press L every other frame...thanks again Kaze! ;)

From the 120 Stars run. I was re-TASing this for our RNG value and accidentally found this slightly-quicker double jump route. I think it looks cool though! Now MKDasher, Nahoc, and I are finishing up TTC. Its sort of a huge whore.

This run aims to get this star as fast as possible without the metal cap boxes activated (for the 80 Stars BLJless run).
Heres the WR *with* boxes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwJPNwVdnzg), though its worth noting that Im ahead by 11 to 12 frames where the runs begin to differ (i.e., the WR is improvable). This is because I found a new beginning strategy and really optimized it, which is good because multiple stars in this course use it.
Anyway, happy Doomsday, everyone. Lets hope the 80 run gets finished before the world actually does end! Kyman and I are making awesome progress and having a ton of fun finding routes and TASing them. Expect more sample stars in the future. Got some stocked up now that school has been out... ;)

Sorry the quality looks like total crap. Dazzles arent very good. :/ I added my hands in just for fun and to make editing 10x harder than it needed to be.
Anyway, I was able to get 4 button presses. This run beats chainchumper by 1 press. Theres multiple ways to do the double box area with 1 press instead of 2. The method I used is by far the easiest. The second way I found was using a very precise angle to spindash through the gaps (I couldnt do it consistently). The third way is to break only the bottom box if your fire...roll...thing isnt nice to you. :P Then you can backtrack and run on the sideways white wall. At the end of the wall, turn upwards and you can just fly straight over the box. Its not very difficult, but its definitely time consuming.
