Description: After feeding at the local dump, this adult Slaty-backed Gull flew in to bathe in open water, then preen and rest on the ice at Mohawk Lake in Brantford, Ontario. An unseen predator, either an eagle or Red-tailed Hawk flushed all the gulls. 21 November 2019.

This adult Slaty-backed Gull in winter plumage continues at Mohawk Lake in Brantford, Ontario. After feeding at the nearby dump, the Slaty-backed and other gulls fly to the lake to preen and rest on the ice. Movie contains stills of the diagnostic "string of pearls' in the primary wingtips. 5 December 2019.
