Mountain Family Trip 3 of 3 – Fishing & Wildlife Cr0cket20 2024-04-18 | In part 3, we reel in fish after fish after fish. Seriously I could barely keep up helping the kids. We didn’t keep everything, but enough for the kids to have that experience of cook what they catch. Some of their friends for the first time. I feel it’s very important to understand where food comes from. We get the results of the game cameras back with what I expected. But also thrown in is past captures of the claw and fanged nature. And of course we sat around the campfire looking at the stars. We did. But let’s be honest, people got tired, sometimes ornery. But overall it was worth the time and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Having been on sections of this road before, but never completing it end to end, I knew how bad certain sections could get when affected by weather. Forecast looked good as far as rain. But the snow drifts I wasn’t sure about.

Backpacking and Fishing with the Twins Cr0cket20 2020-12-13 | The Twins, myself, and the dog head out for 3 days into the backcountry. Fishing, carving, and exploring ensue. Some behind the scenes info (for the 2 people that actually read this), I was carefully watching a forest fire somewhat close to where we were located. In fact in some shots you can hear the planes fly nearby as they were fighting the fire. It was far enough away I didn’t feel we needed to leave, but close enough I was keeping my eyes on it.
TRUCK BED SETUP – On the Cheap and Keeps Options Open Cr0cket20 2020-10-25 | Not looking at spending thousands of dollars on a truck bed setup? Not looking to commit to one specific setup making it difficult to do other truck activities? My simple (albeit a little messy) truck bed setup for my camping trips. Close Encounter with a Bull Moose Cr0cket20 2018-11-04 | Opting not to take the trail back to the truck, I head out to get a better feel/understanding of the land…and it’s just more fun that way. At least until I hit the heavily forested floor where I then question my decision. But overall it pays off as I get several good looks at several different bucks and come face to face with a moose.
