I’m very excited about sharing today’s video. It’s possibly my favourite thing I’ve ever learnt to make! #Druzy molds for #resin using #epsom salts! I was seeing all these beautiful druzy #molds all over instagram and no where about how to actually make them. I really didn’t want to have to buy one either because I get such a sense of joy from being able to make my own one-of-a-kind things that I feel sometimes gets lost when you buy new. It costs more initially for the outlay of new products but for the number of original molds that you can make yourself, you make your money back and more!
Anyway, I found out how to make them eventually and so of course I wanted to share this with you too. I adapted the process slightly that I learnt from Petra Jongbloed (if you don’t already follow her, do it! She’s wonderful!).
This is a fairly lengthy process so just try to accept it and really take your time. You won’t get as nice a finish if you rush things. I didn’t even realise that I hadn’t given my druzys enough time to dry before adding the #silicone rubber but looking back I think it’s because my medium size mold was particularly thick. It really needed another day to dry. It also took me a few attempts before I got the results I wanted so don’t be too surprised if you find yourself in a similar situation.
