In this video I perform a variety of sequence breaking tricks in the Hotel Atrium/Sepulcher boss arena, using the gun clipping method. There's a lot of funky stuff I do here, so I'll explain what exactly is happening below.
--------------------
Part 1: Using Swarm to Glitch Open the Atrium Door
00:00 I get to the 4th floor and kill the nurse. I don't kill the Swarm because I need to keep at least one alive for this trick.
00:30 I get to this wall and push the table away. I have to pass through this wall as fast as I can using the gun, before the Swarm attach to Alex (when they attach, Alex will stop aiming the gun). It takes a lot of practice to be able to melt through this wall before the Swarm attach.
00:35 On the opposite side I am above the room with the hole (which is above the Atrium lobby). The Swarm will pass through the wall to latch onto Alex (it will disappear on this side but it's still there).
00:40 I then need to knife off of the closet and fall into the hole. Remember that now I am running on a timer, because the Swarm is reducing Alex's health.
00:55 For a moment here you can see Alex has two Swarm, but I don't really need two so I kill one and keep the other. Then I fall through the second hole.
01:05 I land in the Atrium lobby, but it's not visible yet. I have to make my way over to the Atrium double doors as fast as I can.
01:30 When I am in front of the doors I remove the Swarm but DON'T kill it. The Swarm is not programmed to attack Alex in this room so it will stay wherever I throw it down.
01:50 I save my game, quit, and then reload the save so that the room is now loaded (I recorded this quite awhile ago).
02:30 When I get back, I find that the Swarm is visibly missing, but I can still hear it making creepy bug noises. Actually, the programming for the Swarm is still there, and will remain there permanently.
And I find that when I open the doors, the Swarm's programming will screw with the programming of the door. They will never close as long as the Swarm is in the way. This lets me escape the hallway after the Hotel transition.
--------------------
Part 2: Moving Sepulcher (04:20)
Okay, so you saw earlier I dropped through the hole and entered the Atrium without triggering the Joshua cutscene. It turns out that if you access the Atrium without this cutscene, Sepulcher's model will be, for whatever freaking reason, relocated to a spot to the side of the Atrium. Sepulcher's collision is still behind Bartlett, but his model is hanging off to the side.
--------------------
Part 3: Escaping the Atrium (05:05)
It's possible to break back out of the atrium but please don't ask how exactly I do this. The controller movements to clip through the door are beyond absurd, there's no way I can explain the movements. This wall clip has far and beyond the most bizarre movement inputs for any wall clip I have come up with.
Anyway after clipping through the door, you can get a good view of the Atrium as a single room.
--------------------
Part 4: Wide View of Atrium
After breaking out of the atrium, if I've previously glitched the doors open with a Swarm I can walk back into the lobby and get a wide view of the entire Atrium (with Sepulcher's model on the right side)
--------------------
Part 5: Sepulcher Under the Atrium
If I accessed the Atrium the normal way by the Josh cutscene and then break out of the Atrium, I can get a look at Sepulcher as he is dangling underneath the floor (Yes, Sepulcher literally is under your feet when talking to Bartlett). It's...kinda creepy to be honest.
(The thumbnail for this video is the image of Sepulcher hanging below rotated 180 degrees). Honestly I think this image is just a little creepy. I like it.
And for an extra bit of info, if you access the Atrium without the Josh cutscene and then talk to Bartlett to trigger the Sepulcher cutscene, the game will have to stop for about ten seconds so that the game can move his model from the side of the room to where it should be.
