7 YEARS IN THE MAKING!! | My First Look at Geometry Dash 2.2! Indev 2024-01-01 | Happy New Year! I wanted to have this out yesterday but had some audio issues exporting the video. Luckily I managed to fix everything in time for today, so enjoy!Thanks for watching, smash that like button, and subscribe!Where do I even begin...I've been playing this game for over 6 years now, and all of that time has been spent in 2.1. I remember the myths and legends of a distant land called 2.2, that was supposedly inching closer and closer to us. Then SubZero released, and we thought it was right around the corner. That was 6 years ago.It was hard to process when a release date for 2.2 was announced. To the point where it felt almost like I knew the information already, basically just accepted it and went on with my day. 3 months was plenty of time to prepare. That announcement sparked my motivation in a way that hadn't really happened before. I just launched the game and literally the first thing I did was try to beat a new hardest, which only took 4 days. Then I did another one right after, one that I had an untold history with, and I wanted to be done with it before the update. That took me 2 weeks. And I decided then that I would try to beat every extreme demon that I had previously failed to complete. Less than a month later, I had succeeded. All that was left was to get to 200 demons: my final goal of 2.1.The last time I played the game in 2.1 was in mid October, I basically forced myself to stop playing the game until the update. I wanted my 200th demon to be my last of 2.1 and I rushed it for the sake of free time that I could spend either creating or, what I did end up doing, revisiting Getting Over It. Demons are what I find to be fun in this game. Taking that away for 2 months longer than I was prepared for, makes it quite hard to find the motivation to pick up where I left off. I hoped 2.2 would spark my motivation again, but apparently that wasn't really the case. So, I'm going to continue my break. I don't know for how long, but at the very least I know that when I return, it won't take long to get back in the groove of things. I do have plans for what my first demon of 2.2 will be, but that could turn out to be more than a month from now. MY HARDEST DEMON!! (again) | Titan Complex by TCTeam! Indev 2023-09-02 | It was certainly a bit ambitious jumping to this from Bloodbath. As stated in the video, I started playing this level seriously on May 23, 2022. I stopped 2 weeks later just because I lost motivation. I picked up the level again on March 1, 2023, and I was shocked at how easy it was to pick up again after going so long without playing it. Most of my journey is in the video, but around the middle of the month, I decided I wanted to beat the level by the end of the month, with plans to upload the video titled something along the lines of "Trying Harder GDDP Tiers!" as an April Fools joke. However, shortly after this, the level had started to take a physical toll on me. I was lucky my poor posture hadn't done something already, but adding the stress of time pressure onto that ended up really hurting my back. I woke up on March 18th unable to move without extremely harsh pain. But after 2 days it was gone and I was able to return to playing Titan Complex. Then, on March 30th, during by far my most consistent day yet, having gotten both 85% and 86% in the same hour, that pain returned and I was forced to stop playing again. I realized that I was pushing myself way too hard, and I decided to take a break indefinitely. So with 95%, the level sat untouched for 5 months. Finally, on August 13, the GD10 video was premiered, and the timeframe for 2.2's release was announced. With that, I knew what I had to do. The quote in the video, "I need to beat Titan Complex, don't I?" is real audio of me talking to my friends 1 minute after the reveal. So to warm up, I beat lodin da fish washer, and then on August 20, I started playing Titan Complex again. I had predicted that it would take another 2 weeks before I saw the same level of consistency as I had 5 months prior. However, amazingly, only 3 hours had passed before I did 16-100 again. On August 28, I was more consistent than ever, having gotten past 74% 4 times that day, and reaching the ending twice. Then, finally, 3 days later, I beat it. I had altered the song file for the level as well, so it would play "Before The Story" by Toby Fox when, and only when I beat the level, to give me a peaceful moment to cherish the fact that I had done it. It was finally over.Thanks for watching, smash that like button, and subscribe!Ok I guess I'll describe the level here and how I thought of each section. The start is pretty straightforward and easy, with this weird short straight fly at 9% that was a little tricky to figure out at first. Then the entirety of the next ship part is VERY wonky, and very difficult to get used to. It ended up being one of the most inconsistent parts of the level for me. Then... the wave spam. Easily my least favourite part of the level, by a long shot. It just seems lazy, and tires my hand out. Not to mention the completely blind transition into one of the wave portals. In the ship at 26%, there's a pretty tough green orb timing where you have to hold the right amount to get into a short straight fly. Then there's another, way worse wave spam that luckily only lasts a single second. Plus you get the most fun part of the level afterward. That whole part from 31% to 46% is so fun to do (besides that one weird robot timing at 42%). The ship can be quite tough, but like I said, it's fun. And UFO is one of my favourite gamemodes. Following it, the hardest part of the level. The cube timings are very tight, and the short ship section feels almost luck based with my low level of ship proficiency. The rest is fairly easy until 51%, where you have a borderline blind blue orb timing, and some more really weird orb timings afterward. The dual looks mildly intimidating at first, but in reality it's one of the easiest parts of the level. The first swingcopter is quite tricky, the 2nd one not so much, then you get to the final stretch. That first wave is really awkward, and notably the ship section at 81% contains the hardest single click of the level. Then some nice wave gameplay with a blind timing and a micro click, a surprisingly easy to die to cube section, and then 1 really dumb timing at 90%. The ending speaks for itself. It's a series of slow tough timings followed by an awkward ship. Overall, fun level. [ World Record ] Bedwars Parkour Any% Completed in 56.503s Indev 2023-05-29 | Messed up the end a bit. Pretty good run otherwise, I'd say.Reaction at 4:08I had initially stated that I would upload publicly when I got a time under 57 seconds. Then when I eventually did do that, it was underwhelming, and had obvious blunders at the very end, including a player completely obscuring my vision for a brief moment which messed me up. I knew I could improve, so I set out to do so. I got the 56.602 fairly quickly after that, and then struggled for more than a full day of playtime just trying to save 3 ticks. Even this run only saved 2 ticks. I felt it was necessary to include that "Extras" portion at the end of the video because nearly every single one of those fails happened countless times on a plethora of different paces. The only exception being that one at 3:11, which also happened to be the most heartbreaking one because it made zero sense to me. The fact that I'm generally pretty bad at slab boosts certainly didn't help with my consistency either. I started going for this record with the goal of finishing a run that the majority of people would have to work for in order to beat. I certainly worked for this run, and I think I achieved that goal. This is still a new map, and I'll probably come back to it to beat this time at some point soon. I believe it's certainly possible to get a 55 second run, I just don't know how yet. My best splits add up to 56.250, and I'm confident that I can get better times on every split without strategy changes, but I just don't really find this map fun anymore. Soon. Geometry Dash EXTREME DEMON!! | Polish Alphabet by Patchimator & More! Indev 2021-09-25 | This level is actually really fun, at least in my opinion. I started playing it as a joke but then I quite enjoyed it, and it only took around 3 days to beat. I'll try to give my best description of the level. Keep in mind that when I say easy, I mean easy relative to an extreme/insane demon. The beginning (0-10%) is quite learny. The timings seem difficult at first but once you actually understand what to do, you get very consistent and do it about 2/3 of the time. The wave (11-19%) has some very tight gaps, but it's obvious what to do in this section, and just takes practice. The upcoming cube section has one of the hardest parts of the level. The first two blue orbs are very awkward to time, and have a high chance of killing you. If you get past them though, the rest of the level up to 45% is pretty much free. There is a strange timing in in the dual at 43% though that you need to look out for. What comes at 45% is, in my opinion, the hardest part of the level. The descent with the ship is easy on its own. The clicks between the orbs are also easy on their own. However, when they're combined like they are in this level, it's a very strange transition and I hate it a lot. It's the only reason this level is an extreme demon instead of an insane demon. The cube dual afterwards is just memory of the route you need to take, as well as clicking two blue orbs later than you may think. Toward the end of the dual, and for a bit after the dual, there is a ship section that's way easier to die at than I ever expected. At 58%, you enter the ball section. This is rather easy, with just a few timings that mess with your head a little bit. The short ship section afterward is very easy to die at, as you need to start clicking MUCH later than you think. The cube sections from 63-81% are just memory, and the gameplay itself is quite easy (aside from those pink orbs at 79%). The ball section after this (ignoring the ship section because its free) just involves late timings and some tight gaps. There's not much to talk about past this point. The final cube has some awkward timings at 96% that I'm surprised I didn't die at in a run from the start. Overall an amazing level.
