I'm not exactly sure who composed this track, but if I had to guess I'd say it was Ryota Kozuka.

(Regardless, the other credits on the soundtrack are Toshiki Konishi, Tsukasa Masuko, Kenichi Tsuchiya and Shoji Meguro)

~ * ~ about the song and stuff ~ * ~

I've recently gotten into SMT/Atlus music and while I haven't played SMT V yet, I'm a big fan of the music. All the battle themes are great in their own way.

I love the simplicity and groove of this track. 7/4 at this tempo is a lot of fun. It's almost like Dream Theater, but with a focus on fun dad-rock vibes.

I came up with one of my craziest guitar solos at 4:26. I stayed up late arranging this cover one night, and after having a few glasses of wine, I wrote some dumb stuff in MIDI. Turns out, despite being pretty hard to play, it sounds dope. There's are a part right after the 16th-note-triplet run where I play an Eb followed by a C (the song's in G major/E minor, so that's borrowing from C minor). That was completely unintentional, but I think it sounds really cool!

I haven't done a VGM metal cover in a while (since August 2020 to be exact), but it was fun to try it out again! The shreddy stuff was inspired by a recent collaboration I was a part of. It's not something I'm used to doing, but I enjoyed it and I think I want to do it some more in the future!

oh yeah, i also broke tradition and didn't do the thumbs up thing at the end of this video. that's not going away, i just thought it looked better without it on this video.
