Welcome to the SFF News and interviews Podcast, vol. 5!
This time, we have with us a panel of creative folks who would like to share with us their thoughts on the link between fandom and creativity, especially with regarding writing fanfiction.
But first is our News portion of the show, when we will talk about events in the book publishing industry, including writing opportunities, and bookish events.
Our focus this week is on independent publishers who are currently taking submissions.
*The independent publisher Orange Blossom Books, owned by Tampa Bay-based author Arielle Haughee, will be opening its submissions on July 1.

And there are some bookish- and fandom-related events coming up soon!! ;)
*During the weekend of June 12-14, the Stone Hill Science Fiction Club will be hosting the 35th annual Southern Media Con!
*And, the other event put on by this nonprofit organization is Necronomicon Tampa, taking place the last weekend of September.
*Another event coming up soon is Multiverse Atlanta, which happens during the second weekend of October (I may be able to attend).
Our guests tonight also would like to talk about an upcoming event that’s near and dear to their hearts: SouthernMediaCon.
This fan con, now in its 35th year, is the “little sister con” to Necronomicon Tampa, which this year is celebrating an even more special milestone: This is its 45th anniversary!
