Before you ask, no this isn't a deathless playthrough and no I haven't found all secrets. This is a somewhat casual playthrough of the map using saves & loads where I mainly rant about stuff regarding the map and other subjects.
Something to address really quick; I understand that I come off as super negative in my commentary regarding aspects of this map but it's born from the desire to hopefully see the combat improve.
This map has incredible visuals, music, atmosphere, secrets, environmental storytelling. It has some very impressive scripted sequences that you would see in the likes of games like Half Life 2 & both in terms of level and combat design there are some really unique ideas on display.
If taking into account everything said this map would no doubt be a masterpiece and in many ways it is one. The one aspect I haven't mentioned though is the combat. I want to stress, there are really solid ideas behind the combat, as in you can sort of piece together what the author wants the fight to play like based on arena layout and some enemy usage. However, the reality is a lot of the fights in this map are okay at best and frustratingly unbalanced at worst.
Way too many instances of Kamikaze & Processed spam, bad spawn locations for fodder in general, and overuse of high damaging enemies like Burners take a lot of these fights that are conceptually very cool and turn them into chores to get through. You do have the equipment to make it through these encounters but I feel no sense of accomplishment in doing so and this is by far the single largest problem this map has.
I touched on some other issues as well but I just wanted to make it clear that I genuinely do love this map and want it to succeed despite what it might sound like at parts during this video.
For the few people who do read these video descriptions and take them to heart, thank you, Seriously, thank you!
Thanks again for watching and as always, stay Serious!
