How to choose between songs to play off a soundtrack essentially inspired by my inspirations... After finishing up a few huge projects, I finally gave myself some time with the hit indie game Hades and I've had a blast. Despite my own fears of roguelike games, Hades walks you through the literal hellscape and surrounds you with exciting randomized boons, gorgeous visuals and Gods, and of course Darren Korb's latest legendary soundtrack. Hearing guitarists in video game soundtracks is such a blast and I've had so much respect for his soundtracks since hearing Bastion. It was super fortunate that Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett, a frequent collaborator vocalist, both prepared a wonderful set for VGMTTogether (a virtual con I helped run this year) and I was so fired up I had to start learning.

Scourge of the Furies uses a lot of progressive elements including eclectic instrument choices (which I have converted from Mediterranean choices to classical Indian ones) and ever-changing time signatures that groove so well. Matt and I went for a very rhythm-heavy arrangement that would make for a super fun performance, and I hope it shows! The visuals also match the Furies and Tartarus' color schemes, as those were pretty ingrained in our minds from playing Hades so much! As our first collaboration in a while I hope you all dig it, stream it, and grab a guitar so you can throwdown in 11/8 too! Lastly as I'm putting out "fewer" covers I'm doing my best to put your support and my endorsements towards the art, so a big thanks to SillyWhims for the gorgeous album art featured in our endslate and on streaming platforms.
