dewinthemorning | Scientism (?) - the Biggest Fallacy of the Anti-rational Memes of Theists, Inmendham, and others @dewinthemorning | Uploaded November 2013 | Updated October 2024, 47 minutes ago.
Most of us instinctively feel that there is something illogical, something wrong with the anti-rational memes of Christianity, or Inmendham's "Efilism", but we 'can't put our finger on it' (I read this in a comment on one of Inmendham's videos lately).
At school we were taught that it is a fallacy to mix up levels of explanations, or fields of knowledge, from which you study a phenomenon - when you study atoms or cells, you do not talk about slavery! If you do, that will result only in a poetic, but very twisted verbal contortion. Likewise, when you are looking for an explanation of matter, you do not start with mind but with the Higg's field, therefore with theoretical physics. Science has shown us that intelligence is a late comer in the history of the universe. This fallacy was called "scientism", but I see on you tube that "scientism" is used to say 'science has the answers for everything'. If any of you has the proper name of this fallacy (improper "reductionism" is only a part of this fallacy), please let me know. Thanks in advance :).
